Re: Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) Clinic Expansion
The other crane will go to the opposite end. Maybe offset just a little as the halfway point on that side of the block will be a bit different. The tallest crane will work the east half most of the time with the longest boom, while the other maybe an even smaller crane, in size, with the boom will b...

Re: Revel / Target Store- 1300 West Lake St
I totally forgot about the Target aspect. Something I hope mimics much of the downtown store as far as options. Not sure of size comparisons. Will be far from the DT store, Better take a walk thru the Dinkytown Target for a better merchandise understanding and how the store will flow. As both run t...

Re: Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) Clinic Expansion
The crane seems extremely tall for just a 6 story building, it appears to be about the same height as the Portland Tower crane. I am wondering if they are going to be putting up a second crane that is shorter, and the height is so they don't conflict. When they built the apartments on the greenway ...

The old Car X is finally looking like a retail mattress store. There was no opening when sign, anyone have some knowledge as to when this is supposed to open?

Re: Revel / Target Store- 1300 West Lake St
Only the north end left to do as far as driving piles. Doing some digging on the south end. Look forward to getting this one out of the ground. That Target will change the shopping dynamics of Uptown. Also increase the walkability of Lake Street.

Re: New Kraus-Anderson HQ (9th St. S/5th Ave. S)
Regardless of what happens, I think it's a good precedent to set that a few development interests can get together and build on a block scale, including a block of underground parking, without having every firm detail lined up. As has been said before, if KA can do it here, Opus can do it at 3rd an...

Re: Uptown Hotel Discussion
I'll agree with you tharchio on the poor results of the promenade. The stamped concrete is slippy when it rains and snows. Might take a lawsuit or two for them to decide to put in a better walkway. Lighting is another not so good with Flux and West Elan and by the steps at Central Elan where you hav...

Thanks, for some reason the pic is not working on that one for me. But I know the area, Will have to check out which of the 3 building my next trip to the DT library.

Re: Suburban Malls and Associated Retail News
My 2 cents is that it would be like Medford and have too many empty spaces because it is not that close to the dense populations, Albertville has the NW burbs, the lake traffic going north, and St. Cloud. Eagan is in the metro area. Can't see it being very big if they do it. Too close to Medford whi...

Re: 113 East 26th Street
Wedgeguy... the big question is... will it be topped off and enclosed in time for winter!?!?!?! ;) ;) ;) LOL, I predict Early fall at the latest!! I'm think the topping off will be late spring to early summer. Other than the current weather, The stick will be mostly going up after the March blizzar...

Re: 113 East 26th Street
They have some block walls up for the first floor. so far it seems to be going slow. But that might be due to not wanting to disturb the ground below. Once the stick starts it will go faster. Much bigger building than I had envisioned.

Copper on a building that size would be a very large amount of $$$. I'm with Grant on Zinc as the exterior.

I'm sure that there is a Sheel's that will work for those that need sporting goods. Rochester Sheel's is probably a super store like the one in Mankato, not EP.

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Retail News
Probably because vendors were not going to send them anymore merchandise until they did something to get themselves into some sort of court ordered reorganization where the vendors feel like they will have a better chance to get something back if they go under. That is bankruptcy 101, have dealt wit...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Retail News
This is chapter 11 not 7, reorganizing vs liquidating. If it were chapter 7 then you could start S**tting bricks. Until then chill out and them them reorganize.

Re: City Center
This is a chapter 11 and not a chapter 7 bankruptcy. This gives them time to shed under performing stores in dying malls, Get their act together and figure out how they plan on dealing with digital sales, see if there is a a private equity firm that wants to take a stab at running a sporting good co...

Comments are going well. For now at least. I like seeing those comments. Kinda puts the Phil in his place. Yes, this is a thriving commercial area. Not the middle of Armetage neighborhood. You were expecting there to be no changes to a neighborhood then you are naive. Just because 20 years ago the ...
