Re: Downtown Minneapolis General Topics & Development Map
So they're really considering conjoining the Fifth Street Towers? Seems like an April Fool's story... http://www.bizjournals.com/twincities/b ... oftop.html

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Restaurant News
Too bad for Dunn -- and the Mall sure is bottoming out -- but there are countless cool concepts (coffee and otherwise, local and national) with their eyes on the Minneapolis market. I think we'll see plenty of fresher new stores/restaurants once the mall reconstruction nears completion.

Kinda reminds me of the Gateway project. That would be a great location to live - easy access to Cheng Heng down the Green Line.

Seemed to me like Jeb was focused on the basics of not passing out or having a bathroom incident on stage. You'd think Jeb, especially, could have come into last night with some sort of choreographed zinger.

I really like it! Those arches subtly suggest the armory and it kinda has a North Loop vibe going on.

Yeah that lackluster aesthetic really doesn't fit their brand positioning at all...

Nice! Shea does such great work - can't wait to see some plans. I'd think there would be many benefits to this being finished before the Super Bowl.

I haven't been in the YMCA for years - why do you think they'd want to move to a new space?

Re: TCF Bank Building Redevelopment
I realize that - didn't mean to commit a forum sin. It still it fits the trend of legacy brands offering newer, so-called hipper brands in urban areas. I realize Blu is upscale. Red is planned to be more affordable. Minneapolis is large and healthy enough that its urban core (or surrounding neighbor...

Re: TCF Bank Building Redevelopment
We've added a lot of hotel rooms in the metro, but so many hotel chains have started up new concepts (generally super modern, limited amenities, aimed at millennials and biz travelers), so there will be many brands wanting to add new facilities in walkable areas. Walkability is pretty big in the hot...

Lancer, your comments keep getting further outside of the bell curve. Nobody is saying negative about the Wells Fargo tower.

I'm surprised how much work they're doing on this building. There's so much broken up concrete piled up outside now!

For sure... I'd assume this means no LEED for this one. Is that a safe assumption, Sean?

Re: Alterations?
Altug at NE Tailor was my go to guy, but he's just too busy. If I wanted something done I'd have to call him a day or so before picking it up to make sure it was done, he'd never meet a date he told you (but if you had a deadline he'd meet it, you might just need to remind him). He'd also frequentl...
