Also: last year's hurricane season has driven up costs. Lots of laborers have gone down to rebuild Houston, and supplies like drywall have gone up significantly.

It's aight. But why didn't they stick with the clean design of phase I instead of the typical hodge-podge? Cost cutting, I assume. But a missed opportunity to create a bit of cohesiveness here.

On the other hand, this has made for a decently varied architecture on the double block, and the driveway that aligns with the grid gives it a more distinguished, city-like feel IMO.
Re: Nord Haus - 315 1st Ave NE (208' - 20 Stories)
Sure, but these new buildings are relatively ugly, in my opinion. I don't know if its adventurous to mix ugly buildings in with attractive ones just for the sake of variation.

I'm totally fine with this new plan happening but if it ends up dying on the vine, especially the 6 story portion, I won't complain.

Anyone know when the developer intends on breaking ground?

Here are some pictures of phase 1 construction. There are only about 100 pictures. Enjoy.

Re: Nord Haus - 315 1st Ave NE (208' - 20 Stories)
Is Phase 2 still a thing? Looks like there's a bunch of equipment on site.
Re: Nord Haus - 315 1st Ave NE (208' - 20 Stories)
AFIK it's still on. Reckon it will start soon now that we're post spring thaw.
Re: Nord Haus - 315 1st Ave NE (208' - 20 Stories)
Yes, Phase II is still a thing. Construction began two weeks ago on clearing the site and large construction equipment was delivered Friday. Weis Builders is the general contractor and Bolander is working on the site prep and foundations.
Re: Nord Haus - 315 1st Ave NE (208' - 20 Stories)
The second phase will be called "Odin." Continuing with the Scandinavian design and aesthetics set forth by NordHaus, the project's name comes from "one of the principle gods in Norse mythology, a protector of heroes with revered wisdom" according to their marketing team.
