Re: Avenues- Replace Numbers With Names

What's up with that little subdivision by the river where all the roads are curvy and named things like Coffman?

Re: Minnesota Governor Election 2018

I know this is probably wishful thinking through blue-colored glasses, but I'd be curious what would have happened if Pawlenty run an adult-in-the-room, rich-guy-from-Eagan campaign that better reflect who he actually is, rather than so baldly trying to piggyback on Trump's immigration rhetoric and ...

Re: Minnesota Governor Election 2018

I don't know anything about anything, but it seems impossible to me that Swanson will do well after that and Rick Nolan's #issues. Is there some massive DFL voting bloc that is pro-Swanson and anti-news that I'm overlooking, though?

Re: Weyerhaueser site redevelopment - 700 Emerald St

As of a few days ago all that was left was one long structure down the middle of the property, so if it's not gone already I'd expect the site to be cleared by the end of the week. Quite a change in the look here.

Re: 2700 University Avenue Development

I'm sure it will, just interesting since there are although tons of housing units within like two blocks of here. I'd like to see Hodges Bend make it.

Re: 2700 University Avenue Development

Not in this building, but somewhat relevant is that the Dunn Bros. in the adjacent Metro Lofts building — which has been there for at least a decade and is adjacent to the green line station — just closed. So that leaves two empty retail bays in Metro Lofts. Hodges Bend is going to need some good lu...

Re: Twin Cities' National and Global Image

What a weird cross section of people who decide to go to this random website and be mad at a meaningless study. In case people are wondering, Minnesota is only happy outside of the two libtard cities, and because we have a small black population, and we also have nothing on New Yorkers in terms of r...

Re: Soccer Stadium and Snelling-Midway Development

From an interview today in the Athletic with Bill McGuire: You had mentioned large green spaces and a “Great Lawn” surrounding the new stadium. Is that on track for 2019? The Great Lawn is going to be in this fall. That’ll all be done — you’ll be able to see Shields Avenue going in front of the stad...

Re: Eleven (Ryan Condo Tower) - 1111 West River Parkway - 43 stories / 526'

The Park Board building having a driveway off the barren, industrial, dead-end northern stretch of West River Parkway isn't precedent. Whatever existing issues you might have with the Park Board of West River Parkway, this is exactly the type of battle it should fight.

Re: 2700 University Avenue Development

The 2700 boulevards are weird. Wouldn't it be cheaper to plant grass than load it up with mulch every summer? Also, appears they mulched near the building recently, but the boulevards remain dirt.

The eastern part of the site is now demo'd, and I'd expect the debris to be fully cleared by the end of today.

Re: Art and Architecture Building Redevelopment - 3338 University Ave SE - 14 Stories / ~155'

Some updates from Cam Gordon Art and Architecture Development. The Planning Commission approved the proposed Art & Architecture Building development by Vermilion at 3326, 3338, and 3350 University Ave SE on June 25. I heard a lot of community perspectives on this project, both for and against. I tha...

Has it been studied how the aging infrastructure would be affected? A lot of the embankments down there are already looking kind of wonky.

Re: Legacy Condominiums - 121 12th Ave S (187' - 17 Stories)

When pointed out these buildings are pretty black, but in context with the city I've actually noticed that they're dark or similar looking. Everything could always be better, but at the end of the day this doesn't feel like a negative quality, just an observable quality.
