Re: Downtown Minneapolis General Topics & Development Map

Does anyone know if there is such a thing as "Minneapolishenge" for sunsets/sunrise? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manhattanhenge I am thinking that Mpls might have a chance in both summer and winter and STP might in winter due to the grid alignment. My mind is wandering with these snowy days. https...

Re: Twin Cities' National and Global Image

Thats understandable. I figure we could do both though. Would having an earlier bowl eliminate the chance to host the CFP national championship game? Levi's Stadium is hosting the Redbox bowl on Dec 31st and then the CFP Championship Game on Jan 7th. So yes, it can be done. Just need a Corporate Sp...

Re: Favorite Skyscrapers (old, new, proposed, cancelled)

Since not much is happening lately, I thought I would revive this thread... I thought it would be great to get the Burj Al Alam tower on the Benson Lot in Mpls. I think it would compliment the AT&T tower with the roof lines. Granted it would only be 750ft, because this is Minneapolis after all. ;) h...

Saw a rendering of a losing bid for the air rights above Central Station on the Green Line today. Can't share much but I'm hoping whoever beat out the kick ass design I saw has an even better design. Fingers crossed for an announcement.
unexpected. hope to hear more soon.

Re: Soccer Stadium and Snelling-Midway Development

From an interview today in the Athletic with Bill McGuire: You had mentioned large green spaces and a “Great Lawn” surrounding the new stadium. Is that on track for 2019? The Great Lawn is going to be in this fall. That’ll all be done — you’ll be able to see Shields Avenue going in front of the sta...

Does anybody know where I can find some pictures of the old Humphrey Terminal?
The one that was a converted hanger in 1986 (?) prior to the current terminal 2. Google didn't help.

Here's the packet. Usually, I can spot the orientation easily, but are these buildings together facing Hawthorne, or are they an L shape with one facing the Greyhound Station and the other Hawthorne? I didn't notice a great layout of the site. The adjacent lot that will be used for valet parking by...

If approved, the release says construction could begin by the end of 2018 and open to residents in 2020. http://kstp.com/business/developers-propose-ultra-luxury-condo-tower-for-minneapolis-mill-district-robert-a-m-stern-architects/4816809/?cat=12196 So when does this go before the planning commissi...

Wonderful!

Agreed that it seems to have a few too many windows for the old DA vibe, but I guess covering up the windows would both fix that and make the space fit in with the rest of the mall... ;)

So they are still pretending to save the facade of the old building. weird. Coming soon, Early fall...What is coming this fall? Groundbreaking. I don't think they can have this done is 10 months. Like more residents in this area, but the design looks cheap, but I guess that is their style based on t...

Why is it not going thru? Seems weird they would go thru all the trouble of releasing all the details and then drop it 2 weeks later.
This is exactly what I am feeling. I don't understand the reasoning.
