Re: RBC Gateway & Four Seasons - 37 stories - 519'

Yup pretty much, but then what's the last building over 5 stories that's been significantly better than fine. Maybe 11 on the River but is it? the eleven tower on the river is a beautiful, slender anchor. design is subjective yes but have you seen the new city muni building in person? it's a triump...

Re: RBC Gateway (Four Seasons) - 37 stories - 519'

this building presents such a beautiful profile on the skyline. this huge piece of tapered cut glass. it's especially impressive from the 35w bridge. what an incredible skyline we have. and the way it meets the henn/washington intersection. building looks better than the renderings!

Re: Target Center Renovation

someone in this thread said the guthrie was a boondoggle? lol. it got bonding money from the state the vast majority of the money to build that facility was privately raised. i guess we can't invest in any nice things in this metro.

Re: Downtown Riverfront - Mill Ruins Park - Waterworks

walked past this water works area yesterday and it looks amazing. still under construction but beautiful what they've done. in fact, i can't recall a time when the downtown riverfront looked better. that new pathway connection from the north loop to the riverfront is also awesome. and add in the new...

Re: Target Center Renovation

fantasy plans for redevelopment of target center? umm the city just put in tens of millions of dollars to renovate it. it's going to stay as a space for events, concerts, whatever, even in the unlikely even the wolves leave, which i doubt they can as the team signed a lease like in 2015 or something...

really like this design. thankful developers keeping faith in downtown in spite of the fear mongering going on in our pathetic local media.

yes more Snow Kreilich please. I know some people find this firm's work cold modernism but not me.

whenever we walk by those new townhomes (are they townhomes?) in linden hills my friend scoffs... but I like them.

Re: AC Marriott Hotel (401 Hennepin Ave / Andrews Hotel site)

AC hotel i mean... the gay 90's ownership doesn't care about their exterior because the city doesn't press them on it.

but both of these buildings are shabby bookends on hennepin ave.

Re: AC Marriott Hotel (401 Hennepin Ave / Andrews Hotel site)

the hennepin side of this building is just bad... does the planning commission just not care about pressing developers on materials anymore? the facade looks like black cardboard.

what is the issue here. I've walked across the bridge.. it's perfectly fine. the entire plaza feeding into the commons park is great and such a vast improvement to this end of downtown.

Re: Stadium LRT Station, Ped Bridge & Plaza (MSFA block)

at the open house, upon exiting the stadium they had the plaza gated in such a way as to funnel people to use the bridge to cross Chicago unless you wanted to walk over towards the ticket office area and cross that intersection there.
