Re: United Properties / Four Seasons "Gateway" Project (Nicollet Hotel Block)
I would think the elevators would have to do more with density and not height. But in a project like this, wouldnt the condos already have their own elevator? I thought I once heard that the cost really doesnt go up that much per floor until you get much taller than these tower proposals. Would be i...

Re: United Properties / Four Seasons "Gateway" Project (Nicollet Hotel Block)
With a 4 star hotel, more condos should be a no brainer. I mean, here in Rochester, they will be building a 4 star hotel with 15 floors of condos above it branded with the hotel. How in the world can't that work at this location? Baffling.

Re: Bloom Capital Project - Rochester
Article states the Bloom Project will be about $250M total. But aside from that, this project will have a lot more public space than most projects have. Got it, didn't see the last financing statistic in the Med City Beat - March 6th article, so fair points, my error - gotta say, little startling t...

Re: MSP Airport
Of all the airports I have been to, MSP is one of the nicest. And just catching up not his thread with regards to airline to choose. About 6 years ago, I decided I would only fly Delta and got the AmEx card and have never looked back. Have never paid for a bag, and get a few free flights free each y...

Re: Bloom Capital Project - Rochester
Just to clarify, that is my opinion as to what will ultimately happen based on the information provided at the public meeting. I have no experience in the insurance or development world, but in my opinion, I think it would be hard keep that skyway open during construction through the site.

Re: Bloom Capital Project - Rochester
When the 2nd St. Ramp is torn down, will the skyway level access go away also? I live in the Fontaine Towers and there are several residents here who are in wheelchairs and scooters and rely on the elevator to get to the rest of the downtown area, especially during the winter. I use it to get there...

I will say, as someone living out of town, any time we come up and the wife wants to do some shopping we usually go to Galleria. We have never gone shopping in the North Loop.

Re: The Link at Prospect Park - 2929 University Ave SE
Also the low rise portion that opened a few months ago is apparently not leasing well, like 12 units leased so far. Let's hope that picks up when it's finished. I think some of these projects that are near-ish to the U might have problems like this for a while. With the projects over here, even tho...

what was the original name? It was built when I was a freshman and was the greatest thing on campus until people moved in and realized how cheap it was built.

Re: Bloom Capital Project - Rochester
Project was approved by the planning and zoning commission with a recommendation for the City Council to allow the development to use the alley access for for phase one to enter the parking ramp to eliminate the need for the bigger curb cut. Hopefully this is approved, as the developer has stated th...

Re: Bloom Capital Project - Rochester
Also, the north tower will be a 4 or 5 star hotel with condos on top. This tower will be the new tallest building in Rochester. One interesting tidbit. The top floor penthouse will be owned by the Royal Family of the UAE.

Re: Bloom Capital Project - Rochester
Last night's meeting with the neighborhood association went well. Lot of input and questions. Project looks great! Talked to the developer after and asked about a timeline. If approved this spring according to plans, would break ground on the south tower later this year. Once the parking podium was ...

Talked to someone on Saturday in the know, and they indicated they just got their financing approved and should be ready to break ground. The Alatus member indicating they break ground tomorrow makes a lot of sense.

Re: Alatus Residential Project - 228 South 12th Street (31 stories - 307'/415')
I wouldn't doubt that this is in fact someone from Alatus. I reached out to them when they announced the project in Rochester, and the lead developer actually took time out of their day to meet with me for a drink so I could pick their brain about the development world. They seem to be more than wil...
