Re: Minnesota Multi Purpose Stadium
US Bank Arena is Cincinnati's hockey and basketball arena. Not that that doesn't mean they wouldn't go after a stadium here. But just wanted to clarify that they do have naming rights currently.

Re: Proposed Crown Hydro Plant
Are you serious?! I am completely open to hearing this out and then making a decision. Last time they met with the neighbors (NIMBYs), it was clear that nothing would make them happy. Even guarantees that should the river flow drop below a certain level, the turbines would stop, etc. I'm so sick of ...

Re: Bloomington Central Station - Bloomington
I guess I disagree with just about everything you wrote here. Want to explain what's so cool about the Lindau Lane "extension", the South Loop small area plan, or what exactly has transformed about Penn/American (other than Wally's)? I will not even hear arguments for how a city of 85k wi...

Big tease! Now be patient. There will likely be more ambitious projects sprouting up nearby which we will learn more about next year.

Re: Bloomington Central Station - Bloomington
I applaud Bloomington for their work in the Airport South area - the planning and implementation (given the many obstacles there; MOA and all its mass/craziness, multiple freeways, the airport, the river, etc.) are far better than 20 years ago. Lindau Lane's extension, Bloomington Central Station's ...

Re: Bloomington Central Station - Bloomington
Who would want to live in a small neighborhood where you have planes landing overhead, MOA flanking one side, a freeway flanking the other, and six lane stroads as your neighborhood streets? There are countless examples of apartment buildings/homes where this description fits... and people do live ...

Re: Bloomington Central Station - Bloomington
Yes, really! Have you ever actually walked around the HealthPartner's building - or the McGough property? I used to work at HealthPartners - when they built the "central park" and the two 17 story towers. It's a no-mans land! Sure I'd love to see a few more Toronto-style 17 story towers go...

Re: Blue Line (Hiawatha)
I knew they had been grinding the rails, I just never thought that would result in the sound difference! I like the new noise. It sort of sounds like a small moped or a zip line when racing quickly. I did notice that the train rode 'smoother' than it did prior to the grinding. It'll be interesting t...

Re: Blue Line (Hiawatha)
I live near the 50th Street/Minnehaha Park Station. Over the weekend I noticed that the trains now make a new sound when in motion. I thought maybe I was just hearing the new trains, and just hadn't noticed it before. But while riding downtown (on an old set of trains) on Saturday night, it was quit...

Re: Nicollet Residences - (455 Nicollet Mall)
I have mixed feelings about this development. I think this site should be getting something more than a stubby, residential high-rise. However, I know there is a good chance that we would have to wait decades to see a sizable (500ft - 900ft), mixed-use or office tower. I was thinking about this mor...
