I know it’s just the committee of the whole packet, but maybe adding a little more color to the tower portion.
I love it as-is - there's so much else over there that's already dark, this helps break up that monotony.

Two more towers would make a nice string of towers on this side of the falls. I hope the coming recession. Doesn’t kill that.
I loved Steve Minn's version of that side of the river from a decade ago. I remember discussing it on Minnescraper. But I can't find any images online.

Another hotel proposed near MOA, filling that block. I guess building a grocery store on that corner (as was originally discussed) was a bit ambitious. Re: Mall of America - Bloomington

Makes perfect sense to me. People would probably buy groceries at the mall too if given the option. A mini Trader Joes in the mall would make an absolute killing on TJ-branded snacks, booze, etc. The mall has expressed interest in a Target or grocery option already - so I wouldn't be surprised if t...

Some positive outcomes from this current renovation: the infrastructure upgrade underneath the street will make the next rehab less complex and somewhat faster to complete. I honestly hope that this is not true because the city realizes that they should bite the bullet and pay for a north-south tra...

Seems like this project would be a great time to consider: - Returning 3rd Ave to two-way traffic, at least east of 5th Avenue S - Planning to reconnect the 3rd St gaps (between 9th and 10th Aves, and eventually between 12th and 15th Aves) to strengthen neighborhood connectivity and encourage neigh...

Hopefully this gets a lot of good feedback from the Longfellow Neighborhood to influence it to be better. I am completely underwhelmed - this location deserves something much better! More glass, more in touch with the surroundings, more organic.

Re: Washington and Portland Mixed Use - 22 stories

Amazing news! I noticed there were bore patches in the parking lot last Friday (when leaving 3-4-1s). Looks like the Subway corner building is owned by the same entity that owns the Crooked Pint/Caribou/Core Yoga building - so that likely won't be going either. The Sawatdee surface lot at Washington...

There's a surprising number of things on the shelves already to not be opening for almost another month.
There is a holiday in there, plus likely training and a soft opening. So it's more like 2 weeks to get everything to done.

I've noticed many more flights taking off to the south recently, across the river. Anyone know what's going on with that? It's become quite the topic of discussion on my local Nextdoor, where people are complaining about the noise. I think the complaints are silly; it's really not that bad, but I a...

Doesn't Cub own this land? You'd have to expect they'd put a covenant in the sale that would prevent them from leasing to a competitor, right? Nope, they don't own it. So we know that the Nicollet Hotel block was bought with federal transit money, and one of the requirements is that the block is used for a transit purpose, and they've swung it such that the streetcar passing through will count for that. For cars going north on 35W heading to west 94, are they going to be able to weave all the way over to the Lyndale/Hennepin exit? If so, that seems like it'll be a mess.
