That $12 million estimate seems really low for such a huge bridge, doesn't it?
Which would still only be $14.6 million in 2017 dollars *.

Re: Uptown Retail & Restaurant News

Seems kind of strange to buy out an operating restaurant when the former Scena space right next door is wide open... The current Coup d'Etat owners are part owners in the company running Pourhouse. I'm guessing they don't own the old Scena spot, which is why they opted to close Coup and transform i...

Re: Bloomington Central Station & South Loop Development

How tall can buildings be there, with the runway to the north? It's in the MN Safety Zone B, but it's not very easy to find specifics... I know that buildings near Bloomington Central Station cannot be over 14 stories. I also gathered that the height restrictions ease the further away from Zone A. ...

Re: Blue Line (Hiawatha LRT)

New LRV must have arrived. Metro Transit bought 3 or 4 LRVs for the Super Bowl. I do not believe they are the Type 3. Out of curiosity, do you mean 3 LRV aka one train or three full train sets? If it just 3 LRV, I feel like one extra train isn't going to make the biggest difference. 3 LRV means 3 l...

Re: Southwest LRT (Green Line Extension)

I mean, at this point, shouldn't the Met Council be looking at cost efficiencies through combining the Green and Blue extensions? One would think that's the best place to find cost savings. Is that not an option? This just seems so incredibly complex, unlike what seems like other cities having a muc...

I think Bryn Mawr could result in redevelopment along 394 above the station. I also think that Basset Creek Valley Station could result in a broader redevelopment of that entire area as well (and possibly quicken the move of the Impound Lot or make it that the City will improve it). I want to believ...

Re: Public Transit News and Current Happenings

I rode the train on Tuesday. I didn't notice any better flow - but want to believe things will be tweaked as more time goes on. But I was frustrated that my train literally had to stop at every stoplight downtown, even when there was no cross traffic. SO annoying!
