Re: Arcadia on the River - 1101 West River Parkway

Ah. I see. So my question would then be, why tear down a newer office building when there are other vacant lots available? Although, I would say that current office building is a terrible use of that space. Just weird to see since it is so new. I believe it's the old saying, "Location, Location, Lo...

Re: Bicycle Infrastructure

I noticed that these are called "LRT Trails", e.g., "Lake Minnetonka LRT Regional Trail." Were these acquired as potential transit right-of-ways or something? Or is that a total coincidence? Hennepin County purposefully did that when buying the rail ROW to make sure people remembered that it was pu...

Re: 200 Central - Alatus Tower (Washburn-McReavy Site) 483' / 40 Stories

There are a ton of pallets of sod on site now. That's kind of weird, right? Not really, it's probably a more cost effective means for long term erosion control than something like silt fence or waddles. I would guess this is a good sign they are not planning on breaking ground for a while. The last...

Re: Southside - General Topics

I looked up Sonora Grill's menu. $5 for a taco? $8 for a side of rice and beans? LOL. If you haven't been there, don't judge. You can cherrypick most restaurant's menu's like that. Sonora has great sandwiches that are a decent value for the size. If a $5 taco doesn't suit you, either don't buy it o...

Arcadia on the River - 1101 West River Parkway

Mod note: this was split off from the stadium parking ramp site thread. It is pretty clear that the Arcadia condo project, if built, would be at 1101 West River Pkwy, not the stadium ramp site. Curious if anyone else has thought about this being where Ryan and Arcadia might put the residential towe...

Doesn't sound like the project team is particularly concerned about this. There will be some mitigation measures, but probably no significant impacts to the design or budget. Right?
Good information about this and rebid items in the new Extending Tracks Newsletter.

Re: Public Transit News and Current Happenings

Does this confirm that the LRT will be closed to everyone else? Or will other stations be open? (I don't see how you could run these express trains at the same time.) My guess is that they'll supplement bus service for 'regular' riders along both lines, allowing Game Day pass holders to get the VIP...

Re: Oaks Station Place

I am very interested to see how Venn does at this location with no real parking lot, not sure what the set up is regarding the spaces in the lot next to the transit station, and the restrictions on the street parking in the area. I guess I like how this discourages drinking and driving, but I wonde...

Re: Gold Line (Gateway Corridor) BRT

2024? Geez, that's a long way out. What's going to change in the interim? This project feels very flimsy in terms of its long-term viability as currently designed. 2024 does seem like a ways away, but conversely, 2011 doesn't seem like it was that long ago - so it's all relative I guess. Regardless...

Re: Southside - General Topics

Agreed, but a terrible name. Pausa would be fine, but it being in all caps makes it sound like a plumber's trade association or something, and then the parentheses are just confusing. I just keep thinking it's Pennsylvania, USA... So, I think a better name is in order too. But I LOVE the Senora Gri...

I thought it was odd that neither the Strib nor BizJournal article mentioned where they were relocating employees from- most articles usually note that. The Richfield locations seem most likely, and this is therefore probably a wash from a future transit access perspective given the Orange Line sto...

I'm so confused about the staircases. Will there actually be exercise machines and whatever running right up to the atrium railing that they couldn't have put those staircases where the escalators used to be?
