It would be great if both this and Alia broke ground in spring! Watching the two towers go up at the same time across the river from each other would be fun!

Did we know the Bremer bank at 65th and Nicollet was going away? I drove past this morning and the lot was nearly completely cleared of rubble.

Re: Uptown Retail & Restaurant News

I find the news about Heyday disappointing, but understand how they felt the need for a refresh--it was always empty in there despite the level of food and service we receieved. For my partner and me, it's always been one of our neighborhood favorites and we even rented out the space for our weddin...

Re: 38th Street Corridor & 38th St Station Development

Aw I heard from a reliable source that the Lander 38th Street Station development is not moving forward. I think they may still do something on 29th Ave since they own so many of those houses, but not the full project that had been presented. Suck---a real loss for this area. If this is true, I won...

Re: Hiawatha-Minnehaha Ave Development & RR Corridor/Grain Elevators

Boy that makes me think that that Holiday is not long for this world. Granted, that Holiday is near my house and I do use it from time to time. But I'd much prefer to see both Holiday & Burger King lots redeveloped into something housing/retail-oriented. Maybe even a new Walgreens in the base of a ...

Re: Orange Line (35W BRT) & Lake St Transit Access Project

My hope is that when the various bridges get a complete rebuild, on-line stations similar to 46th St will be built into them. Those are all decades away, though. Agreed - but who knows what another decade will mean with regard to transit investment/car driving/people movement. It could happen soone...

Re: Orange Line (35W BRT) & Lake St Transit Access Project

Why didn’t they make all of the Orange line stations inline station? How much time is going to be wasted exiting and re-entering the freeway? Short answer, politics & money. Those can be done later, when there's actual money or will. Neither are very high at the moment - so this is better than noth...

Re: Demolition of West Publishing / old jail

Can anyone say what the article says about Shepard Road? A pedestrian bridge over the railroad tracks and Shepard Road would connect downtown St. Paul to the riverfront. “We would develop a connection to the riverfront, which has been a high focus for St. Paul and Ramsey County,” Sherman said. AECO...

The AECOM rendering is the only one in the article, sadly.

It's not going to change anybody's opinion, but there's only $70m going towards the interchange, for Phase 1. The other $134m adds MNpass lanes to 494.
MnDOT looks to add MnPass lanes to alleviate congestion on I-494 in Bloomington
There's a survey too.

I think it looks nice.
If this transitions the strip mall north of it to continue building up - even better.

Is it my imagination, or does the plan call for a drive thru curb cut in the middle of the aBRT station platform?
I believe the BRT Platform would be closer to Park, after that curb cut, which is why I think it's where it is.

Noticed while passing it this morning that there's a "coming soon" sign for a new brewery in the old Harriet Brewing space on Minnehaha. Can't remember the name, though. Seattle and Los Angeles . They're raising their own funds for projects so they don't need to meet federal matching funds requirements. If it's going to take 10-15 years, better to get on that now instead of spending another 1-3 years banging our head against the wall. Maybe with a bit of luck, we'll have a governor and legislature that lets us get some meatier transit taxes and plan another Bottineau without having to genuflect to...

I wish at this point Met Council would be willing to take a step back and say "You know what, we screwed up assuming BNSF would cooperate, let's not waste any more time fighting with them and come up with a different plan." Terminate in Robbinsdale, let Target pay for the expansion north if they re...
