Re: Southdale Area Development - Edina

The old Eclipse site really would be a pretty awesome location for this. Does anyone know who currently owns that lot? Is it still Shamrock? The northern portion of the block (grassy area) is owned by 21st Century Bank & the southern portion (surface lot) is owned by Dolphin Staffing, according to ...

Re: United Properties / Four Seasons "Gateway" Project (Nicollet Hotel Block)

Glad to hear that RBC is staying downtown. Is this the first we've heard of this building including an office component? Seems like I only remember it being hotel on the bottom and residential on top. I thought the same thing. I think they maybe mentioned some office space, as there was that talk o...

Re: Southdale Area Development - Edina

(locked)This honestly made me lol. It's crazy that they thought they would be able to smoothly slide into a suburb and just throw up a 26 story when the city North would have had no problem with this going downtown. I get the Edina/Southdale appeal. There are high-end condo towers happening downtow...

Re: Riverview Corridor (Alternatives Analysis)

Surprised they're going to pick that fight (the new bridge). It's a new adjacent bridge - and I'm not really sure why it would be a fight? The existing bridge can't handle the weight, and even if it could, I don't see how trying to convert it to 1 car lane in each direction, like the UofM bridge, w...

Considering if my memory serves me correctly that the Atlas tower has 230 units or so and it's 40 stories this is a pretty significant proposal. (I'm sure this project will be much less than 40 stories.) Not exactly apples/oranges... this lot is 2.51 acres, the Atlas Tower at 200 Central is .8 acre...

According to the Bonding Bill, looks like it's just a repair: MVH-Minneapolis Historic Truss Bridge Repairs: $7.851 million to repair the bridge that spans Minnehaha Creek and gives access to the campus at the Minnesota Veterans Home – Minneapolis. https://mn.gov/mdva/news/legislative-updates/?id=10...

I've been to Pepitos many times. I want to like it. I've tried to like it. But I don't much care for their food. I've had a lot better from other locally owned places. But, I'm sad to hear that they may close - as I love local places, even if their menu doesn't do as much for me.

In other Uptown news, the official Uptown Target opening date is now October 22. It had previously been reported as October 18 but it appears that is a soft opening only. Yes, the article states that nothing with the designs has changed. Just ownership.

Terrible traffic is essential for crossing a busy street like Chicago. Parral traffic allows a blind person to be certain t...

Just put it on the ballot and let voters pick the name from a limited selection. A bunch of liberal busybodies may want to change the name but that doesn't mean everyone has to go along with what they pick to replace it. I'm guessing the same preference was given to the Native Americans by the cons...

In regards to the parking, did they mention if any of the total included public parking? If that does include spots that could be used by the paying public, I'm okay with the higher total. I'd like to imagine that the new ramp cost includes a solar array like the red and blue ramps have, but... they would probably be bragging about it if that was actually planned. The reason they opted for solar at Terminal 1 & Terminal 2 wasn't because they wanted solar, it's much broader than that....
