Cheesecake Factory planned for Ridgedale Center

I think it's strange that they chose another west metro location over one in the east. But I think this new location will suite them well.

Re: 46th & Hiawatha Mixed Use (Oppidan/Greco Project)

Can't really share how I know this, but looks as though this will be a new urban Cub Foods at this location. I'll be curious to learn more - as this will likely be our new grocery store. Although we were really hoping for a Fresh Thyme.

So about Venn Brewing (rumored for Oaks Station Place)...how current are those rumors? Their social media pages are awfully quiet (p much silent since Jan. 2016) I heard it directly from CM Johnson that a brewery was interested, but how sure are we it's these Venn guys? A friend who is close to the...

Re: Southwest LRT (Green Line Extension)

Trump has also selected a Transportation Secretary who has a track record of both roads and transit. Granted, she can certainly have a new agenda under President Trump, but I'm at least thankful that she has experience. Unlike many of the other cabinet posts. But ultimately, it doesn't matter what t...

Re: Southside - General Topics

I too agree that there should be a coffee shop at 34th and 46th. I think it's close enough to the Blue Line stop that it could get some of that morning walkshed traffic, but it's more "neighborhoody" than the Oaks Station Place. And I have no idea how that Oaks Station Place storefront will fill wi...

Re: Mall of America Transit Station: Master Plan

I think if discussions want to be had about pie in the sky ideas - or unrealistic options - they belong elsewhere. I'm not opposed to having a forward thinking discussion - but it's tough to intermix the two. MOA owns the property to the east of the parking ramp, again. So I don't think any transit ...

Re: Mall of America Transit Station: Master Plan

If the 28th Ave P&R had instead been built a block further west (at the corner of 82nd and 24th), the ground floor of the ramp could have served as the MOA's transit station, connected to the mall by skyway. That would cut off several minutes right there, and put a more reasonable distance between ...

https://i.imgur.com/83ZjOCi.png There's all sorts of problems before the train leaves 28th Ave Station but the part between there and the mall seems the most egregious to me. Re: Mall of America Transit Station: Master Plan

To bring my comment back to the actual Mall transit station, I always thought they should parallel 82nd street after the park-and-ride and bring the train in under 24th to a station platform that is perpendicular to the current platform. This would eliminate 2 90 degree turns and the at-grade cross...

Re: Mall of America Transit Station: Master Plan

I dunno, it just seems shortsighted to be investing more money in a dead-end station. Like, they'd have to demo a ton of stuff to even think about extending this line, right? Why?.. There are ZERO plans on the books for any extension over the next 25+ years. So with that in mind, this is a smart re...

Re: Southwest LRT (Green Line Extension)

That's what I would expect, but has anybody stated this? Note that there's no inherent reason Bombardier and Siemens cars couldn't work together, but they don't. My guess is that interoperability with existing rolling stock was a requirement this time, and that's why only Siemens responded to the b...
