Idea to remove cars from just one street (Broadway) in downtown LA. https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2020-02-16/los-angeles-ban-cars-broadway-downtown-streetcar-pedestrian-zone The plan would still allow fire, police, and buses. A future street car from Staple Center could use it instead of ...

Housing Market/Economics - General Topics

Pretty good opinion piece on the tension between cities and builders that is exacerbating housing shortages in the Twin Cities.

I thought I saw a crane up by the station area. Anyone know if it is for the station work, or Calhoun Tower(s)?

You could probably relocate the post over to the whole Eat Street thread, since this is basically a half-block from Nicollet.

This will be fine.

Re: 3D Apple Maps

Apple Maps recently completed the roll out of the new Map dataset to include the Midwest and much of the Southeast US, now giving complete full coverage of the full US. What does not appear changed or updated is the aerial imagery, just the vector map. Supposedly in the new dataset include updated p...

Re: Southwest LRT (Green Line Extension)

Surprised no change to the 664 since it seems to have a decent overlap with the SWLRT I was thinking the same, but a big part of 664’s ridership comes between Meadowbrook Rd and 100, which is quite too far from the LRT stations, and the end points of 664 down 11th Ave S in Hopkins are likewise outs...

Seems a strong risk of the northwest corner having an Eleven dropped there and views of Gold Medal blocked. A bit higher and those floors would be up over the building across 2nd and sights of the river to be had.
