Re: Southdale Area Development - Edina

Which other suburbs, and where in them, would accept 26-story/20-story towers? Bloomington near South Loop, out of the runway limits...? Normandale Lakes? The Shelard part of Saint Louis Park might have. But no where else in the city, IMO. 14 stories by the Wooddale Station got shut down hard. West ...

Re: Southdale Area Development - Edina

I agree. I’ve worked around Southdale for around 25 years. This would have been fine. I’m very unsurprised at this outcome. There was an amazing amount of fear mongering over heights along France. Crazy talk over this causing traffic problems even though traffic hear is down many thousands of cars p...

Re: Bicycle Infrastructure

I know this may seem an odd place for this, but with Golden Valley Country Club in talks to be sold, if it gets closed some day as a golf course I hope they consider rerouting the bike trail through this from its permanent detour around. https://www.bizjournals.com/twincities/news/2017/10/12/golden-...

This is a really bad look for St. Anthony to bait and switch just to clear a mobile home park.

Wooddale Station Area / PLACE Proposal - St. Louis Park

There are traffic changes coming from SWLRT and there are changes coming that are to fix the stupid Wooddale design. SWLRT was bringing the increased closing to the rail crossings when the trains come through every 15 minutes, plus it brings the whistle free quiet zone changes that were going to clo...

Minneapolis Density and Population Growth (500k, etc)

I wonder if there could be a conversation with residents in the neighborhoods in those “retail-sheds” about what need to happen to get their shopping spending spent in Minneapolis as much as possible. Keeping local dollars spent locally helps cities and neighborhoods stay resilient, and all that Str...

Alatus Residential Project - 228 South 12th Street

The neighborhood isn't very neighborhood-ish. This area really needs some greenspace. I think you are one to something but to be pedantic this area has some small pockets of green space, though it really is smothered by the freeway entrances. There is the Convention Center Plaza. Isn’t there some d...

I expect putting a large list up for vote will result in Lake McLake Lakieface.

If voting is opened to Minnesotans outside Minneapolis then Lake Murderapolis has a high chance.

Re: Minneapolis City Council and Park Board Elections 2017

The professionalization of so many layers of government is a design problem that is offputting to many many people. Like complex tech, when the design of something has a high barrier of understanding, tuning out until the design improves is rational. Eventually we get candidates who promise to simpl...
