Re: Wooddale Station Area / PLACE Proposal - St. Louis Park

I’ve been waiting to see this redeveloped literally for decades. When this completes, the Burlington/MicroCenter will have a lot of redevelopment pressure.

MN Highway 7

It looks like this death was due to the frustratingly long extended rush hour highway stoplight cycle on 7 at Texas pushing a teen into thinking it would be worth the risk of running across. So sad. http://www.startribune.com/pedestrian-hit-killed-in-st-louis-park/474245343/ I don’t have any data, b...

MN Highway 7

There is an upcoming resurfacing of the pavement along 7. I don’t believe there is anything else planned. In all the public hearings around Blake Road, numerous people again and again why Blake and 7 wasn’t being grade separated. The word was it would be out of the scope of the project, doing it wou...

Re: MN Highway 7

With the 100/7 interchange completed, speed limits on 7 between Texas and 100 have been increased from 45 to 55 (with most drivers traveling 60-65 IMO). This speed increase has made the stoplight at Texas that much more of a problem. Getting cars to stop after they fly up over the hill at the new fa...

Re: Woman's Club of Minneapolis Parking Lot (344-410 Oak Grove)

It would be a sweet public amenity or they slide in a narrow buffer on the east edge for pedestrians to walk through from 15th to Oak Grove. Take inspiration from an old east coast alley or European city. You could squeeze in a few walk ups in it...

Re: 2024 Olympic Bid?

If we’d make a bid and leverage a distant alpine site, picking a site unrelated to Denver would need to happen. Look further north to Wyoming or Montana.

Blake Road Corridor

Getting motor vehicle lanes on a Hennepin county road to be narrower than 11” is a miracle. Narrower than 12” is pretty awesome. I think the lanes are currently 13”, with a 17-20 foot center turn lane. To fit a separate bike lane next to a pedestrian sidewalk meant squeezing the bike and ped paths r...

Re: Grandview District - Edina

This will be nice. A better sidewalk would be good to have here, I’d rather have some corner landscaping sacrificed for wider corner sidewalk standing space. If this can relieve the Arcadia carbucks line backup it will be huge, but I expect people on Summit will howl about Caribou cut-throughs from ...

SWLRT was going to remove the spur that swings through the industrial area (crossing Louisiana) and reconstruct a more direct connection to the CP-Dan Patch line via a short bridge. A future connection linking Cambridge to Louisiana (where the rail crosses today) when the station area begins to deve...

St. Louis Park - General Topics

Second update. In 2019 Louisiana Avenue, south of the Cedar Lake trail to Excelsior Blvd, will begin reconstruction. The major reason to tackle it is that the bridge over the creek was identified in 2011 as needing replacement very soon. Doing it in 2019 because then they can coordinate with SWLRT w...
