Re: Wells Fargo Redevelopment - 801 Portland - 16 stories - 180'

Ah good catch, couldn’t see those from the other side of the block. Exciting to see this neighborhood continue to grow. Now if we could just get some restaurants and retail to follow.

Re: Wells Fargo Redevelopment - 801 Portland - 16 stories - 180'

I would guess the barriers are for 8th St. construction and not this development.

Re: Thrivent Headquarters Block - 6th St and Portland Ave

Shorter doesn’t mean six stories, the original proposal was 12.

Re: Thrivent Headquarters Block - 6th St and Portland Ave

I have heard rumors of plans for a new development to include a hotel and apartment. Also, to include a daycare and fitness studio. Word is that it will be shorter than the original. Hopefully, the lack of heigth will be offset by an interesting design.

I’ve heard the Thrivent sign will be going away and will be replaced by a slightly smaller Hennepin Healthcare sign.

Re: North Loop Neighborhood

What an asinine location for a parking ramp!?? An unbuilt location in the North Loop with river views and trail access would make for an amazing residential opportunity. Whether it's condos/apartment/townhomes, there are so many better options than a parking ramp. Is there a less critical lense when...

Re: What will it take to develop DTE?

Crazy to see how many of the ideas became reality... redelopment of KA block, bumpouts, Commons Park, HCMC development. Living in the area, I've been happy with much of the new development but even with all of those changes I feel like the area is still lacking an identity. What do people think will...

Re: Gateway Tower (RBC/Four Seasons) - 37 stories - 503'

https://www.bizjournals.com/twincities/news/2018/11/08/another-remix-for-united-properties-gateway-tower.html A brand hasn't been mentioned. The plan says a "five star" hotel, though it may not be a Four Seasons. On a seperate note, the top penthouse (Unit P) is 6635 sq ft with a 1055 sq f...

Based on the numbers provided, I agree that would make sense. That said, why wouldn't the Wells Fargo office space be considered Class A?

Re: Wells Fargo Redevelopment - 801 Portland

Great news! Have any plans been published for the 16-story proposal? The number of significant developments in this area is really exciting. Excluding US Bank Stadium and the Commons Park developments, a number of them are listed below: - Portland Tower (Fall 2016) - replaced surface lot - Kraus And...

Re: Legacy Condominiums - 121 12th Ave S (187' - 17 Stories)

I think we need to give Stanton more credit. His buildings aren't 'iconic' but they often fit in well with the neighborhood with reasonably priced floorplans (I understand reasonable is subjective.) Without his significant development in the Mill District and North Loop, I'd be surprised if either n...

Re: Thrivent Headquarters Block - 6th St and Portland Ave

I'm surprised this project is getting as much criticism as it is. I don’t see any reason this block can’t have the same success as the KA block. Within one block of this block (3 x 3 = 9 sq. blocks), there are a total of seven surface lots (not counting the three parking garages) that make up an oce...

Has anyone seen plans for landscaping? I hope they are just waiting for winter to be over and not just leave it as is.
