Re: Hennepin Avenue Reconstruction (Douglas to Lake St)
I emailed Jenkins about it yesterday and got the most non-committal answer, essentially, "Thanks for your input, I will ensure it is included in the public record."

Re: Minneapolis 2021 Elections - Mayor, City Council, BET, Park Board
From what councilmembers have said, months ago they were trying to provide an outline and process for drafting an ordinance that would implement the department of public safety and how police would fit into that, but they were told to stop by the City Attorney's office because it would be considered...

I emailed the developer to get some clarity on this and the different phases... I'll report back.
The tower will be next to (directly north), but not on top of the parking ramp. The top of the parking ramp will be an amenity deck and pool.

Re: West Lake Quarter - 3430 List Place (295' - 24 stories)
Residents here got a construction update from Bader this past week: The pile driving currently going on is for the parking ramp/amenity deck, and the low-rise building called, the Mezz. Bader says they will start foundation work on the Gateway (low rise building on the south side of the site) in 2022.

Re: Calhoun Towers - 3430 List Place (295' - 24 stories)
I live in the existing building ("The Original") on that site. They are currently building the parking structure and one of the low-rise buildings next to the parking structure ("The Mezz"). Not exactly sure on timing of the tower, but they are saying it'll open in 2023. Thread s...

Re: Hiawatha-Lake - Minnehaha - Downtown Longfellow
Maybe I missed it, but I didn't see a dedicated thread for "Midtown Corner," the apartment building the went up in flames earlier this summer (2913 26th Ave S). Wellington cleared the site and is moving quickly on reconstructing the building.

His post is basically a word-for-word repeat of the first post from the 510 Marquette thread (from 2013):

Project is called "Luna." They are advertising being open for September. https://lunaminneapolis.com/ I'm interested to see if this spurs other apartment projects in Cedar-Riverside or Seward. Those neighborhoods have basically been ignored during the recent building boom. https://i.imgur....

I'm pretty sure I remember reading that the site next to Sawatdee is part of Zygi Wilf's real estate holdings, and that would explain the New Jersey connection.

Re: Minneapolis 2040 Comprehensive Plan
Nordeast, I wasn't meaning to be dismissive of ALL people who worry about home values. You're right, many people are really counting on the value of their homes for their financial security. And I confess, I definitely lack empathy for some of the folks in Linden Hills, who live in one of the most d...

Re: Minneapolis 2040 Comprehensive Plan
It's also kind of funny to me because a lot of these Linden Hills folks also cry the loudest about property tax assessments and how much their homes are worth. It sounds like they're all convinced that frey-plexes will hurt property values, so that should actually be great news for them! [wink]

Re: Minneapolis 2040 Comprehensive Plan
And for some of the complainers who are older and have lived in Linden Hills (for example) for a long time, the four plex proposal might actually allow them to sell their out-dated house for MORE money than they could currently, since a developer could turn it into four high-end condos instead of ju...
