Re: Renaissance Square / The Andrus

It is a bit strange that a restaurant functioned in this exact space for a very long time, and a current restaurant and a bar continue to function with the exact same alley constraints as this, yet this particular space is the odd one out.

Re: Uptown Retail & Restaurant News

Kind of wild how one of (if the most) cohesive, urban space in Minneapolis in an area packing some of the highest density and near some of the wealthiest areas of town, has so many high-profile vacant spots. With the exception of Target, has there been a new retail (not service or food) tenant in t...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Retail News

I'm enjoying the new Nicollet! It is very well used during the day, people sitting on the chairs, playing the games they have set out, and the public piano. I walk along stretches of the whole length at least once a week, at different times of the day, and granted I am a straight white male, but I'v...

I mean, I agree that people sleep on the benches, but I have also gone in there to look at it multiple times. They don't bite.

Nice! That corner has been a bummer for awhile. Though it's too bad they couldn't incorporate Little Jack's in there somehow. What a weird building. Did anyone ever go in there back in the day?

Re: Hennepin Avenue (Franklin to 36th)

I know the construction is pretty much finished now but how area between lake at 31st end up so barren? kind of surprised that they didn't add anything like storm water pavers to add some variety. I'll repeat my earlier criticism that the Lake to 31st block absolutely needs to have have pull-off ba...

My dad takes the parkway coming from Highland Park in St. Paul to my sister's at Lyndale & 54th. These changes will almost certainly push him to 62. One anecdote, for sure, but I don't think it's so unusual.

Re: D Line - Chicago-Fremont/Emerson Rapid Bus

Well that is not true at all for the whole northern half of the line, nor the section south of 62, only for the part cutting through South Minneapolis between downtown and 62 (<40% of the line). And for that section, there is a pair of 3 lane one way roads 1/10th of a mile away for cars to drive on.

Re: Southside - General Topics

I don't want to sound like a monster here, and I certainly don't want to return to a pre-ADA world. And I hope someone will correct me, as I have very limited experience here. But fewer than 6% of Minnesotans have an ambulatory disability. Isn't it in theory reasonable if there is some housing that ...

The white bar's are consistent. They are only for existing transfer points. All the future transfer points don't get bars yet.

From 2010 to 2018: Carver, Scott and Hennepin grew faster than the 7-county average, Washington grew at the same rate, and Ramsey, Dakota and Anoka grew slower than the average. Growth rate is in the order listed. From 2017 to 2018: Carver, Washington and Scott grew faster than the 7-county average,...

It is so wide! Cars treat it like a 4-lane road, because it is effectively a 4-lane road, just without any striping. Drivers pass left-turning vehicles on the right constantly.

The lobby is cool! I swung in there last week trying to find the Spyhouse that was very prominently advertised on the front, which wasn't open yet, and I was impressed by the space.

Even still, you'd have to tear down at least 6 businesses plus Higher Ground Academy, the National Khmer Legacy Museum, multiple fields at Concordia (and maybe even Sea Foam Stadium) and a few houses for the bridge over the tracks. That's just a real tight geometry in general, going under Hamline, o...
