Re: Gateway Tower (RBC/Four Seasons) - 37 stories - 503'

I don't care about the sign itself. I do care that RBC has known about this for years and never made a peep until the last minute when they could hold the city hostage.

Re: D Line - Chicago-Fremont/Emerson Rapid Bus

The decision has been to made to keep the proposed stops at 48th & Chicago on the southwest and northeast corners. There will be no stop in front of HealthPartners, as some had suggested.

Re: What's Your Take On Minneapolis E-Democracy?

The funny thing is, many of those same points can be applied to this forum, to greater or lesser degree. I mean, not really. Of the 7 points they listed, only two really apply to this forum: - It's a bubble that effectively pushes out a lot of opposing voices. This is true, and deserves to be worke...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Restaurant News

Just makes me wonder...what is it about downtown that makes them more prevalent there vs. the rest of the city? There are 160,000 workers there for lunchtime. I figured someone who say this. But there are also 400,000+ people in Minneapolis. Plenty of folks need lunch on weekdays not downtown, not ...

Outside of the areas mentioned, we could honestly use more chains, not fewer. I wish I didn't have to go to Highland Park for everything fas...

Re: Embarrassing Confessions of Urbanists

A medium one: When I see pneumatic tubes counting bikes, I ride back and forth over them ALOT on purpose....once about 10x over an hour. Especially if it is bad weather. I don't want low numbers to justify disinvestment. A bad one: I simultaneously believe that the city is for everyone and that pan...

That said, Minneapolis could/should have like at least 3 more Taco Bells (Tacos Bell?) Not specifically downtown, just everywhere. 35W-Lake and Franklin-Minnehaha are not nearly enough to serve all of South.
Haha, I always forget how crazy this forum is for Taco Bell.

Pretty disingenuous to make that map of "the biggest and cheapest fast food chains" and not include Subway, which has 6+ locations downtown.

I don't think anyone has posted about this, but there's an aquarium going in at Rosedale. Already under construction, it'll be on the north-northeast side of the mall.

The stations seem pretty darn close to being complete along Penn. The boards aren't in, but otherwise they look very close to complete.

And considering that they have already raised rates multiple times since I started, I will be paying double what I was 2 years ago. And when I started, there was no indication that it was just an "introductory" rate, even though that is exactly what it was. I guess I shouldn't be shocked that they a...

A little bit down the way, but Apoy is now open as well. Stopped in at Open Streets, it was lively and the food was good. Definite improvement over the graveyard that Vicinity had become.

Re: Minneapolis 2040 Comprehensive Plan

I don't understand the distinctions here. A common complaint among those opposed to the plan was that no outreach was done. Which I would take as "Please do more outreach." Now the city, listening to that criticism, is hiring a firm to help with outreach. And that's bad? They spent untold time and m...

Their website says that 10 stores are also franchised, but not by Jerry's. They are the ones in Alexandria, Baxter, Brainerd, Buffalo, Coon Rapids, Grand Rapids, Minnetonka, Plymouth, Shakopee and White Bear Lake.

If people don't park in the current stations, they just keep getting charged. They have your credit card information. I imagine it would be the same with the virtual ones.

TBH, opening this can of worms under the current political environment would probably mean that it could not possibly be named after any white man in history. I don't have a specific problem with that, just predicting that's where the public conversation would lead. Probably best to stick with tree...
