Re: City Center

This.. didn't add doors. Wasn't it supposed to add doors and split the massive space?

Re: Apartment Construction Boom (2011-??)

Uptown has gotten softer. Northeast is going bonkers. There are 2 bed apartments in North Loop going for less than some scrappy 2 beds in Logan Park.

Re: Downtown Minneapolis General Topics & Development Map

They're working with Ten x Ten currently to add green space to the surrounding structures. My hope was to keep the service building, tear down city of lakes, and build a tower on the corner of 2nd Ave and 3rd St. Having the hotel being renovated next door renews activation of the street, and this wo...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis General Topics & Development Map

Neither options were all that impressive. It kinda seems like this is planned for a multi-phase development with the layout they presented. Tear stuff down in 10 years and put in a tower. Option 2 had the City of Lakes building completely gutted for parking. Both options called for demolition of 217...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Restaurant News

Honestly surprised no one has proposed they just redevelopment the lot. It's 15,500 sqf across from the stadium. East Town apartments is going up next door, two blocks away they hope to convert to apartments, the medical examiner is moving (has moved?) to Minnetonka, AND 7th/8th have BRT now.

Re: Nicollet Mall

I got a kick out of business owners on Nicollet complaining about the lack of holiday displays. Have they tried... their own holiday displays? I felt like the holidays were in full swing on Nicollet the past week.

If you look at the property maps, this row of buildings has been under sole ownership for years.

Re: Melzer Block (E Hennepin between Univ and 4th) for Sale

Why is everyone assuming it's being torn down? Am I missing something? Melzer is the namesake of the existing building. It seems like it's just trading hands.

Minneapolis - North, Northeast, and Southeast / University of Minnesota

But anyways, yes! I hope the plans go through. In Warsaw they had floating barges of activities and it was getting full use.

Alatus has informed me this project will break ground the first part of 2020. The design is the same. They have ran into cost and labor shortage issues.

Re: Northeast and Southeast Minneapolis - General Topics

I got the impression that New Bohemia was willing to stay, but the building owner was going to raise the price on the lease. Seems to me that most times I drove by there were always people there, so I think they still had a good following. This is a prime corner so I'm guessing with the addition of...

Re: Future Cars: Electric and Autonomous Vehicles

I wholeheartedly agree. I think it's the first big step towards AV. We will need a more robust transit system to make it work though. It will work well in Oslo right now.
