Re: 1202 4th St SE

Quarter block but it's still a horrible project so far.

300+ beds but chalked full of amenities (waaay too many). This should have retail and just a basic lobby. We're trying to get cheaper houses here all.

Re: Iron Store - 528 Washington Ave N

Has anyone seen the inside of these buildings? They're impressively preserved in its current state. Would be leased by a restaurant or retail tenant in less than a few months.

Re: Fishing in the Metro Area

I saw some folks fly fishing in the Mississippi under the stone arch. And then in Edina there must be a good spot in Nine Mile Creek

This is horrible

Like... really awful. Proportions are all wrong. There's absolutely not enough units for downtown. And it meets the street in the worst way possible.

Re: Minnesota Governor Election 2018

I'm going to vote Walz. But I'm not sure if I'll campaign for him. Few questions based on his US House website: Southern Minnesotans are uniquely interested in both renewable and non-renewable energy resources, and I value your thoughts regarding coal mining activities. Should legislation on the iss...

That would've come out looking like a St. Paul postmod mess. I'd rather have something minimal, but pleasant to walk by (retail!) than a statement.

Not from what I heard a month ago. Maybe they found another site? That corner parcel next to Fairgrounds? The 1 story building behind the Lowry building? Literally anything on Washington?

I had a dream this grew to 20 stories last night and became very BIG (Bjarke-Ingels) like. Very clear boxy.

Just for fun. No new info added.

And now it's quoted in the Strib "At the meeting, several audience members, who identified themselves as living in nearby condos, voiced their displeasure with the project’s height and scale and said the project would tower over nearby residential buildings blocking sightlines and light." http://www...

Re: Nicollet Mall

The city did their part... now time for the DID and downtown council to do theirs. Build some planters, hang some flowers again, stop letting offices lease up ground floor space and block windows. So much of that creative edge people think is missing isn't because of the renovation was a mistake. It...

You know how many people go to Frank and Andrea's? And theres kind of a limited amount of retail spots left. The old Dinkytown tattoo with a broken window. The recently vacated One Two Three sushi and the basement of Pagoda (which is never gonna lease).

Re: Downtown Minneapolis General Topics & Development Map

The DMNA LUC agenda next week includes: An 18-20 story, 350-unit apartment tower with 350 underground(!) parking stalls on Hennepin Avenue between Washington and 3rd. It's proposed by Harlem Irving, the developers of the the Link/Fresh Thyme in Prospect Park. Tushie Montgomery is the same architect...

Re: Gateway Tower (RBC Plaza Jr.) - 30 stories - 458'

We shouldn't base our iconic intersections based on the 70s and 80s. But also I think a lot of what's being said is a bit overreative.
