Re: Southdale Area Development - Edina

Too bad this wasn't planned at the same time as Lifetime (or Shake Shack for that matter) as there would have been a significant opportunity to sort of regrid part of the Southdale superblock. A 67th St or Beard Ave could have meandered through the space.

There's signage up for 801 Chophouse in the McGladrey building (or whatever it's called) on 8th and Nicollet.

Re: D Line - Chicago-Fremont/Emerson Rapid Bus

This is fine (for motorists). There's already delivery trucks stopped in the bike lane quite often, and motorists are able to get through just fine. One of the wonderful things about 48th and Chicago is how motorists genuinely feel encouraged to slow down well below 30 MPH. We could use that along t...

Re: Sears Redevelopment

That's my concern, too. Also, is this as big of a deal now that we built a light rail line connecting downtown and the capitol complex? Even Rice Street station is in the downtown zone. Not only that, but developers have visions of office towers at Snelling station around Allianz Field. I wish St. P...

Wouldn't this be low-hanging fruit for "locating your front door a short walk from the train station?"

Lund's is the tenant for Noko at the Cedar+Minnehaha Parkway node. Lots of interesting facts from the project.

Re: E Line Arterial BRT

I think the E Line should route via France, since the development pattern is already node-centric. Then if the Xerxes corridor still needs a local bus, route it via 44th to France, then north to Excelsior with onward connection via West Lake Station. This seems like it would be the best of both worl...

Re: Midtown Corridor Rail & Lake Street aBRT (B Line)

Look at page 13 in that PDF... Wouldn't this be the right time to adjust Lake Street to a 3 lane profile (at least the quieter sections) alongside skip queues and other transit advantages?

Re: Southside - General Topics

The proposal for the 4700 block of Cedar was at the Planning Commission Committee of the Whole. Tweets about it here: https://twitter.com/ajm6792/status/1111379650901508096 Anyone else going to the developer meeting this Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.? It sounds like the proposed tenant will be announced a...

Delicious AND ridiculously affordable. I miss this place so much and I keep sending Arturo messages encouraging him to keep going. I wonder what he would need to operate in terms of square footage, equipment, lease expenses. Would be cool to see some others help him get this going again if that's st...

Re: Southdale Area Development - Edina

I feel like Southdale is confused... is it a superblock of well-integrated and varied land uses? Or is it a shopping mall surrounded by a moat of surface parking? Those visions are not compatible. We need to pick one and move forward.
