Re: Bicycle Infrastructure

It looks like that's where property ownership switches from Hennepin County RRA to Chaska EDA and private ownership. https://gis.co.carver.mn.us/publicparcel/ That said, it's ridiculous that there's not even a multi-use path alongside Chaska Blvd (Old 212 / TH 61) or Stoughton Ave. Let's all write l...

To be fair, without knowing anything about this petition, the idea of a park & ride in your traditional downtown is a sign of failure for your traditional downtown.

Re: 1930 Hennepin Ave

I submitted the following comment. Janelle, thanks for your tireless work to help a great city rise. I have a major concern for the 1930 Hennepin project that I hope the CPC and developer can consider: The curb cut for parking on Hennepin is absolutely unacceptable and must be changed. Hennepin is o...

Re: Ryan Companies Ford Site Redevelopment

Yep. There are definitely some tough spots along the Ford Spur for transit use, but between Randolph and St. Paul Ave it largely parallels West 7th within a block. The problem is that there was never a good hybrid option that looked at using the best parts of the CP rail spur, but West 7th or other ...

Um doesn't the Richfield plan for Penn-Central (not the defunct railroad Penn-Central) include a park & ride facility at Penn and 62?

I'm still not getting what this "LOOP" is... an extension from Union Depot to Smith Ave that crosses downtown and doesn't force a transfer to the Green Line? That's not a loop, that's an extension. And it makes sense. Know what else makes sense and would drive ridership? Extending it to Minneapolis ...

Re: Freight Rail News and Happenings

From p. 47 of the State Rail Plan overview : Although rail trackage extensively covers all regions of Minnesota, there are some bottlenecks. The Hoffman Junction east of the Union Depot in St. Paul is used by BNSF, CP and UP, and carries 120 trains per day. Bottlenecks in the Minneapolis Junction an...

Re: 38th Street Corridor & 38th St Station Development

When I drove by last night there was a backhoe next to the gas station at 3800 24th Ave S (where Yellow Tree proposed a 4-story apt building). Demo soon perhaps? No longer a backhoe on this site, and has a broker board up on the corner (I forget the name). Wonder what that means... Also, the coffee...

Re: Orange Line (35W BRT) & Lake St Transit Access Project

True, but that's because we'll only have two stations on the entire 7+ mile stretch between downtown and 66th Street.

The Orange Line could have really benefited from stations at Franklin, 38th St, Nicollet near 60th, etc.

My hope is that when the various bridges get a complete rebuild, on-line stations similar to 46th St will be built into them. Those are all decades away, though.
Our record isn't too good on this... When will we be getting Orange Line stations at Franklin or 38th St?

Re: Orange Line (35W BRT) & Lake St Transit Access Project

It's also ridiculous how all of the stations south of 46th Street will require the buses to leave the MnPASS lane, the interior lane with transit advantage, and cross numerous other lanes to access the station through right hand exits/entrances.
