Re: CPM North Loop Office Building - 419 Washington Ave N / 420 N 3rd St

IIRC, five (above-ground) levels of parking, seven levels of office on top of that. So, kinda a glass half-full/half-empty kinda thing.

Re: 10th & Marquette Handicraft Building Development

I was still under the impression that the approvals for this project were successfully challenged by the adjacent landowners, because they were proposing totally unrealistic sideyard setbacks. Am I misremembering? Yes and no. IIRC, the first design had balconies on the southern elevation that were ...

Re: Nicollet Mall Reconstruction Project

Oh good.

I had the same suspicions as SurlyLHT. Like, no doubt they lost business over the whole span of the project, but they've had their sidewalk seating back for months now, so why push through the crappy part only to throw in the towel once it's gotten better again?

Re: 10th & Marquette Handicraft Building Development

On the one hand, it seems like it. Nothing has happened for long enough that their CPC approvals are about to expire. (Or have already?) On the other hand, they haven't leased the spaces back out. If they've truly given up on the project, I can't think of any reason not to. It's not like it's a offi...

Re: Doran/General Mills Development - 215 2nd St SE (284' - 26 Stories)

I went and looked it up. HPC denied 200 Central, but Zoning and Planning and the full Council both approved it unanimously upon appeal. I don't see any particular reason this would be different.

Re: Riverview Corridor (Alternatives Analysis)

Right. Atlanta's streetcars, at least, are the same basic model as our Type II LRVs, just slightly shorter (79' vs 94') and without the couplers. We'll see, I guess, but I certainly hope that we'd just get more full-length LRVs rather than mess around with having two different vehicle types sharing ...

Oh, I didn't realize there wasn't a crosswalk at 30th. I retract my previous statement, that is pretty bad.

That seems like a pretty accessible grocery store, though. Not as good as it would be to have it at the 29th Ave corner, but not awful.

Re: Downtown Minneapolis General Topics & Development Map

Youthlink/PPL is working on a 5 story 46 unit addition to their current location at 12th & Chestnut, just on the outskirts of downtown. The units will be placed in quads to relate to peoples interests similar to how some dorms are set up. Their focus will continue to be changing young peoples lives...

They do. A friend of mine ordered some beer, and the delivery guy apparently took a long, long time to figure out how to scan his DL into the phone.

Re: Riverview Corridor (Alternatives Analysis)

I don't think converting a mixed-traffic lane to dedicated lane would be difficult at all, and that's really the only redeeming factor for me. I'm more worried that, since the intent is use single LRVs, that they might not leave space at the stations to be able to eventually extend up to full-length...
