I don't know much about what these deals normally include but having the met council cover loss of revenue and profits in an economic downturn seems a little ridiculous.

Re: Fantasy maps
Here's my crappy idea since I work and plan to live in Wayzata and might be nice to have the Wayzata depot back for passenger use. So I'd have a commuter line like Northstar go from Wayzata to Minneapolis to St Paul directly, maybe a stop at West End. Also could extend west to Long Lake or Maple Pla...

Re: Soccer Stadium and Snelling-Midway Development
I like that they mention this as the reason: However, tailgating for events unaffiliated with the University mission does not serve a similarly important purpose for the University. With eight years of experience, the tailgating culture of Gopher events has been pretty well established. Unaffiliated...

Re: Beltline Station Area – St. Louis Park
I'd imagine for the retail/restaurant its kind of unfortunate that if you are in the buildings on highway 7 it wont be visible from the light rail or bike path. Then if you're in the other buildings on the bike path side you wouldn't be visible from highway 7.

I feel like with East Town they just wanted to add to the "towns" of Uptown Downtown, Dinkytown, Midtown, Tangletown, Lowertown, etc

Wayzata building might be odd for an hq but its a sweet looking building and its basically on Lake Minnetonka.

Re: St. Louis Park - General Topics
^if I remember correctly Cooper and Crave were originals. Heck, Rojo might be too. Rojo expanded into a space that was emptied by a Punch Pizza type place. Oh yeah and Jimmy Johns and Subway are both original. The only one that has had drastic changes is the current Loop. Used to be Figlio 2.0, and...

Re: Southwest LRT (Green Line Extension)
How many people ride the bus from the sw transit already? How many more would ride the lrt?
Except terminating the line early doesn't get people from Minneapolis out to many jobs and it doesn't help convert freeway-driving people from EP to transit. The EP connection is important.

I've been looking at old pics lately and came across old West End in 1971 when we already had buildings on this property:
