Re: Northeast (and Southeast) - General Topics
Saw the plans for Glam Doll on a table in the largest open Space in Red20 this morning. Looks like they're renting the space closest to Urban Violet. That leaves an open space on Hennepin, and one on Central. Is Papa John's still planning on moving in to one of these spaces?

Re: Northeast (and Southeast) - General Topics
I didn't see any permits in the window, but there appears to be ongoing construction in the space next to Lu's in Red20. Based on the markings on the exterior wall, it appears that they're going to be installing an ATM and night deposit. Anyone know what this is?

Re: Superior Plating site
I see trucks there everyday. Each day it's something new that they're testing on the site. I wonder if the site was more contaminated than they thought. At present, the waste water tanks are being removed to make way for ground breaking. Not sure what that involves or what that means for the actual...

Could this be a business opportunity in the right neighborhood where apartments decline package deliveries we see FedEx or UPS stores showing up where people go to pick up deliveries in their neighborhood and end up as common as coffee shops. Heck, maybe have a hybrid concept "coffee shop/deli...

Re: Chicago
How in the world could you write an article about Evanston and wait until you get to the second page to mention that it's home to a major research university with 20,000 students, and then as sort of a throw-away comment? It's especially odd considering that both campuses sit within spitting distan...

Re: Chicago
Just saw this in Politico. The Suburb That Tried To Kill the Car Evanston was failing as a suburb, so it reinvented itself as a mini city. Now the city of Chicago wants to follow its lead. http://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2015/10/evanston-illinois-what-works-213282 Not sure what role Jp Morgan...

Re: 700 Central Avenue Northeast Apartments
Tiniest of updates: Looks like they have slapped some "apartments and lofts coming in 2016" signs up on the corners of this building with some renderings. Website is also listed. There are also new(ish) "retail space for rent" signs up on the first floor. Cool building.

Re: Public trash cans
Good point! As I walk around Hennepin and 1st Avenue NE I'm always wondering why there is so much broken glass and trash everywhere. You have me thinking it's because there is really nowhere for people to toss the trash. Sure, they could carry their trash with them, but it's not happening. It raise...

TIL (well, yesterday) that the Star Tribune printing plants is train serviced: https://i.imgur.com/tF1h7R5l.jpg That's funny. I used to live across the street. The first time I heard the train, I thought it was somewhere off in the distance and didn't bother to look out the window. The second time,...

Re: Renting vs. Owning
This is an interesting conversation to me in general. We had no such rebate(that I was aware of) when we rented in Chicago. My wife and I do not qualify for it here. If I understand correctly, renters get a rebate because in theory they're helping to pay the landlord's property taxes?

Re: 602 Apartments - (602 1st St N)
71 units, 44 parking spaces. In an area that has pretty garbage transit service (the 7 runs on 1st Street, but not terribly frequently), this is somewhat surprising. Due to the misaligned superblocks and whatnot, it's not particularly easy to cut over to Washington (Route 14) either, or beyond that...

Hey, what a minute, that sounds like the Freehouse next door!Take Redstone and then make everybody in the place (staff and customers) think that they're about 90% more special and important.
Serve overpriced, unremarkable food and drinks.

Good to see some other musicians on here! David, cool stuff. I'm going to check out some of that music. On a slightly different note, does anyone know of a band seeking a roommate at their rehearsal/practice space? My gear is outgrowing my loft and I'd like to be able to record some demos at fuller ...

I have always wondered about the safety of the passengers if involved in a collision. While larger and heavier than a bike, it's not very nimble, and the passengers aren't really secured in by anything, not that a seat belt would be particularly helpful.
Scary stuff.
