Re: Alatus Residential Project - 228 South 12th Street
Looks like a good project. My primary complaints: way too much parking and no ground floor retail.

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Office Market
Hopefully this means something will eventually go into the massive ground floor retail space near the light rail. It's tough to figure out what can go in there because the building doesn't have a loading dock for deliveries. It doesn't? What's behind the garage doors that are next to the alley on 5...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Office Market
Not sure if this is the appropriate place for it, but Renaissance Square (5th and Nicollet) just sold on Friday to new investors. I think they're called "Trinity" something-or-other. Cushman & Wakefield is now managing the property. Hopefully this means something will eventually go int...

The bond amount was announced today as being roughly $4.5 million. Plaintiffs have one week to raise it.

Re: Apartment Construction Boom (2011-??)
Okay, I just submitted my article there. It's only based on what's up for review at CPC CoW tomorrow, so several of the above projects aren't included.

Re: Apartment Construction Boom (2011-??)
I wrote a similar thing and published it this morning. I didn't go into much detail on each project, just wanted to make the point that not all development is luxury. I really should've published it to streets.mn for more readership:

Re: Alatus St. Anthony Tower (Washburn-McReavy Site)
So their goal is just to drag this out as long as possible? Will that appeal be filed before the June 9 Z+P meeting?

If you're too busy to testify, at least send an email to the members of the Zoning and Planning Committee. Too busy to write your own email too? I've got you covered!

Re: MSPyimby
Hey all, I'm running the MSPyimby site. Just sent an email to Forward Minneapolis about it. I figured a project like the Alatus Tower appeal is as good of a project as any to kick things off with: http://www.mspyimby.com/alatus-towers/ The goal is to focus almost exclusively on housing, and to provi...

Re: 2320 Colfax Avenue Apartments
Yeah, I think the Mayor jumping in maybe was unnecessary, but how could she stand idly by while this happens? Nicole has been posting inflammatory comments re: 2320 for almost an entire year now; she started back in April 2014 and I think is at around 30 posts on the topic (I was curious and counted...

Re: Theater Garage Marquee Apartments - (Franklin & Lyndale)
Yes, I didn't phrase that properly - I realize there wasn't zoning as we know it when those were built. I was just curious about how far off the property line the buildings on Aldrich are, and how far off the property line the current theater garage building is.

Re: Theater Garage Marquee Apartments - (Franklin & Lyndale)
I read that gofundme page and it says that this new development will be "within a car length from my windows!" While I'm not intimately familiar with car lengths as standard measurements, it made me wonder what the setbacks of the existing buildings at Franklin and Lyndale are, and what th...

Re: 2316-2320 Colfax Apartments
Yeah, I think she tried to mobilize her supporters to show up at the council meeting and was surprised that something else was a bigger issue than this house. I've also been generally disappointed with MinnPost's coverage of the issue as well - one article is essentially a press release from the Hea...

Re: 2316-2320 Colfax Apartments
It would be ideal if Crow's attorney would be kind enough to send someone electronic copies of documents that are filed by both parties. As it stands currently, in order to retrieve the documents, one must be physically present at the courthouse (between 8 and 4:30 M-F, I believe), and pay $10 per d...

Re: 2316-2320 Colfax Apartments
I was one of the guys who talked to spdcheetah. I attended just to see what the crowd was like, and to hear what kinds of arguments the leaders were making (I find the "I even made an offer on the house" argument especially amusing - how much $ was the offer?). My friend was the one who wa...
