Re: Uptown Hotel Discussion
I live a few blocks from this proposed development and think it would be an excellent addition to the neighborhood. It certainly would help activate this part of Uptown even further. Most of the activity centers around Hennepin, Lake, Lagoon, and Girard currently. With the impending Cheapo developme...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Retail News
Yes, compared to Macy's in S.F.'s Union Square and NYC's Herald Square - we have a long way to go. But its good to be in the same cadre as them. Lots and lots of Macy's in downtowns across the country have closed - decimating what was left of the retail atmosphere there. I grew up in STL and after t...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Retail News
This is very good news for the future of downtown retail. Executives have put Minneapolis in the camp of “Macy’s flagship real estate assets” along with its store locations in Manhattan at Herald Square, San Francisco at Union Square and Chicago on State Street. http://www.startribune.com/macy-s-see...

Re: National Marrow Donor Program HQ - 524 5th Street North
This area has seen enormous development in the past few years. Once they build the speculative office building it will be pretty much complete - http://www.bizjournals.com/twincities/blog/real_estate/2014/11/target-field-station-center-north-loop-minneapolis.html Too bad a gas station was built on t...

Just walked past this morning and it appears that the site has now been cleared. Hardly any "old" homes along this end of Lake St. are standing anymore.

Re: 4Marq - (313' - 30 Stories)
Minneapolis also issued a RFP for the Nicollet Hotel block which is next to the library for a 20+ story tower. Within the RFP is a requirement to plan for the Nicollet-Central streetcar line either wrapping around the site or bisecting it. With 4Marq, the 2 additional 30+ story towers and the 20+ st...
