Re: Bike Share

Injuries Force Lyft to Hit the Brakes on Its E-Bike Ambitions So it was a real disappointment late Sunday when the ride-hail company announced it would remove all of its electric bicycles—at least for the time being—due to reports of injury. “After a small number of reports and out of an abundance ...

I wonder why they sold. I thought they were still over 50% of building even with the new buildings over by the stadium.
Wells Fargo didn't own the building.

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Retail News

Wow, pretty surprising the Skyscape one is closing, it's consistently busy whenever I go there. This will be a big negative for the neighborhood. Although maybe not surprising considering the sign in the dairy section today: https://i.imgur.com/rgWVhAU.jpg?1 Felony shoplifting requires $1000 worth ...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Retail News

The CVS on Hennepin is consistently terrible. I stopped going there. If there are two people in line you'll wait for over 10 minutes. Many toiletries are locked up and you need a staff member to unlock it adding more time. I wouldn't be surprised if this one closes. The CVS on Portland doesn't have ...

The article said Northstar wouldn't offer a log term lease to Arby's.

I remember about a year reading that they were thinking of converting the building to apartments. Could this possibly be the reason they aren't offing a longer lease?

Re: Bike Shopping

So I've been doing some holiday bike browsing/shopping lately. Is there anything I should look for (or common decisions to make) when it comes to ebikes? Also, are there any good holiday deals for bikes/ebikes? Since I'm looking for a utility-focused bike, stuff like this post (below) is pretty hel...

Re: Crime

The article offers a great history of the area, very enlightening. I think what it comes down and what the article showed that rich people want the area to be nicer. But those folks haven't grappled with the fact that the US is a low tax jurisdiction (25% of GDP and falling). If you want your strol...

Re: Condo Rental Caps: Economics and Equity

Hello, This is my first StreetsMN post. I’m on the board of a large downtown condo that is considering a rental cap. (A rule that limits the percentage of units that may be rented) This seems like a bad idea. It is anti-renter and I think it will hurt property value. What do people think? Has anyon...

MNDOT is studying tolls as a means of funding. http://www.startribune.com/mndot-study-considers-tolls-as-a-possible-fix-for-roads/472639723/ I personally think this is a good idea. Re: Opus North Loop Apartments on W river parkway

'Private Drive' and no 8th Avenue vehicular connection? Boo. Star tribune owns the ROW and must be selling it to Opus. Another waste for connectivity in the neighborhood. I know I had the same response just upstream, but I'm still not convinced that it's important to have a vehicular connection her...
