Re: Uptown Hotel Discussion

I talked to the General Manager of the hotel last week. He said opening is scheduled for December 1, although there was a small chance that might be moved back slightly. Rooms can't be booked yet but I'd imagine that will change soon. Living close to the hotel, I'm looking forward to inviting friend...

Re: Uptown Retail & Restaurant News

I visited the Uptown Target yesterday as well. The major and CEO of Target were there. Lots of free samples. I was happily surprised by the layout and selection. I thought a Target of this size would not carry certain items compared to a full-size Target. However, everything I'd expect to see in a f...

Re: Uptown Retail & Restaurant News

I hope this Taco John's news is real although I fear it's not. I've long said a Taco Bell/ Taco John's would do well in Uptown. Especially one of Taco Bell's newer concepts that serve alcohol. That would do well in Uptown (replace Arby's???). However, I love Taco John's so I wouldn't mind that eithe...

Re: Revel / Target Store- 1300 West Lake St

That's right, it's opening October 18. I walked by this weekend and they had the door open. The Starbucks was already built with signage up. The Starbucks is just inside the door on the Lagoon/ Fremont door. I'm moving to Revel this Friday. I had a chance to visit it this weekend. Here's a picture f...

Re: Mozaic (all phases)

No housing as part of the project? That would be a huge missed opportunity. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk  They just got a big check. They don't have a project to speak of yet. Scott Dibble pointed out to me that PP may have safety guarantee requirements that preclude a mixed-use devel...

Re: Mozaic (all phases)

Basically all the first floor you can see in that picture (part of it us going to be enclosed bike parking) I have a hard time seeing retail doing well facing the Greenway. The two blocks of 29th to the east are essentially an alley for Cub and Planned Parenthood. Not much traffic going through the...

Re: Revel / Target Store- 1300 West Lake St

CPM has moved the opening date to September 1, 2017 from April and then August. Not sure why they keep bumping the date, construction seems to be progressing a good rate. I do know that CPM had issues getting Laguna opened on time and I wonder if they learned from that experience. Pre-leasing starts...

Re: U.S. Bank Stadium

How long will the funding of the stadium be discussed? Everyone loved to talk about the funding of Target Field before US Bank but now no one talks about it. Last I heard, Target Field was going to be paid off years early and under budget due to reduced interest. It was worthy of discussion before i...

Re: U.S. Bank Stadium Construction Updates

Well, here we are. No matter if you agreed with the financing or design of the stadium, opening day is here. Personally, I'm excited to get inside this weekend and check it out.

Re: U.S. Bank Stadium Construction Updates

I feel like with some much glass at street-level, this could happen a lot. It doesn't help they have rock right below it in many areas. The Metrodome, as ugly as it was, was built like almost like a fortress in this regard. Very hard to do much damage to the exterior of the building. With the new st...

Re: U.S. Bank Stadium Construction Updates

First off, a routine thunderstorm doesn't make national news like last nights did. Second, they've been having problems with that part of the stadium, the highest most wind hitting point, for a bit now. See my pictures above. Although I agree that it probably shouldn't be happening, I know that con...

Re: U.S. Bank Stadium Construction Updates

The only panels I see that are actually peeling off are the ones that were recently put on and have been having problems in the past. What am I missing? What looks like shit? Are we forgetting that our previous stadium here literally collapsed a couple times? The exterior of the building is complet...

Re: U.S. Bank Stadium Construction Updates

67MPH winds downtown reported on Kare11 today That's a little higher than I thought but those types of winds are bound to happen several times a year. The building is brand new, you would expect it to hold up the best now. Replacement is easy now but what happens in 10+ years when the panels are fa...

Re: U.S. Bank Stadium Construction Updates

Stadium received wind damage last night to some of the metal panels. Crews were out at 11pm repairing. Webcam images - https://imgur.com/DOOnadM Anyone else a little surprised by this? I don't think the winds downtown exceeded 60mph last night. Pretty average winds for a thunderstorm which are boun...

Re: U.S. Bank Stadium Construction Updates

It's hard to believe we're in the last month of construction. I recall reading somewhere that construction was supposed to be wrapped up by July 4th weekend. Makes sense considering they are starting tours July 23 and they'll probably need a few weeks to clean the place, bring in food/ advertising, ...

Re: Revel / Target Store- 1300 West Lake St

I spoke with someone in the leasing department for CPM. They said Revel (which is the name of the apartment complex, not just the development) isn't slated to open until August 2017. So it would appear the opening has been pushed back a few months.

Re: Uptown Retail & Restaurant News

Up-Down plans to restrict their patrons to persons over the age of 21 after 8:00 pm Proposed hours of operation are 3pm to 2:30am. The 2:30 closing time is obviously kind of interesting. Food service stops at 1 and of course booze stops at 2. Do they really anticipate enough revenue from games to j...

Re: Uptown Retail & Restaurant News

http://www.bizjournals.com/twincities/news/2016/05/16/scena-tavern-closed-uptown-minneapolis-new-concept.html Scena has closed down, which probably comes as little to surprise to people who lived in Uptown or knew people that worked there. It really wasn't a terrible place. It just never caught on. ...

Re: U.S. Bank Stadium Construction Updates

I had a feeling that the Prince tribute concert might be held at U.S. Bank Stadium since Prince was a huge Vikings fan and the stadium is so purple. It looks like it's officially on the list as the preferred venue. Sheila E. is in charge of the tribute and said U.S. Bank Stadium is at the top of the...

Re: Revel / Target Store- 1300 West Lake St

I figured they could build out the apartment and Target at the same time but if they have to wait until the apartment is finished, an October opening makes sense. I'm hoping to move in next summer so I was hoping Target would be open. This might be a dumb question but, does anyone know if Revel is t...
