Re: Rush Line Corridor (Alternatives Analysis)

When did they make the decision about naming gateway the gold line? I think it happened before racial tensions escalated as they have over the last several years.

Re: Street, Road and Highway Projects

I just passed a sets of signs at Arkwright and at Payne saying they were closing to pave it on the 20th. If they're planning on testing a 4-3 over the winter like they said, this is their time to implement it. *fingers crossed*

Re: Street, Road and Highway Projects

From the presentation: "Maryland & Edgerton reconstruction scheduled for 2019" "Traffic increases toward 35E" "Ramsey County will collect additional data and study Payne to Arkwright this winter" The docs online are all I have to go off of since I wasn't able to make it to the recent public feedback...

Re: Twin Cities Future Transit Map

Re: the Red/Pink Line, It just seems appropriate to use the 3 primary colors for our 3 LRT lines. I'm going to have to give some thought to how to rework the bus routes/add the aBRT lines, since not everything will fit cleanly into the map as it's currently structured. I might add the midtown greenw...

Re: Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board

I thought I was making like a half-pun there, though I just opened the link to see that's the restaurant's name (as opposed to a misspelling of sous). Woops, my bad.

Re: Fantasy maps

I agree, it is an aesthetically pleasing and well-constructed map (the original map and its creator(s) are still credited in the lower right, as I didn't come up with the design), and I have no problem with you using it as a base. There's still some tweaking I'll do like fixing fonts and reworking t...

I've updated some stuff from the original map, though still a WIP. (cross-post)

Also, when is this supposed to open, now? I paged back to the beginning of the thread to see that I was the OP, exactly three years ago, and was very excited to see that this was supposed to go into service in late 2016...

Re: Rush Line Corridor (Alternatives Analysis)

The Rush Line Task Force requested that this be the "Purple Line". I'm somewhat disappointed it won't be the Silver Line, though the name is relatively inconsequential. This should start appearing on official maps soon.

Re: Street, Road and Highway Projects

https://www.ramseycounty.us/residents/roads-transit/future-road-construction-projects/maryland-avenue-resurfacing Sounds like they're going to restripe Maryland 4-3 all the way west to Arkwright and collect data over the winter, and then resurface in 2018. Yay for extending the 4-3 conversion, but :...

Re: Street, Road and Highway Projects

I hear they are also considering extending it west to Arkwright and east to White Bear Avenue. With the support and strong opposition, respectively, of the area council members. We really have to get rid of Bostrom. His sarcasm and opposition to good things pisses me off more because he represents ...

Re: 2017 St. Paul Mayoral Election

Unverifiable allegations from a lobbyist made on the weekend of the caucuses to cast a cloud over his candidacy. Aka garbage. Here's a pretty relevant excerpt from the Scott County deputy attorney's letter: When Marlow asked whether the lobbyist’s clients would make a donation to Thao’s mayoral camp...

Re: Amazon's New HQ?

Has anyone seen any quotes from mayoral candidates in either STP or MPLS? A non-official take from my preferred St Paul candidate is that they've already decided where they're locating and they're mostly looking for publicity and courtship (not that we shouldn't compete, but that whatever we put up...

Re: Southwest LRT (Green Line Extension)

I am just baffled. Did they internalize Republicans' desire to kill it, and now want it to die so they can spend the money on other things?
