Re: Minnesota Governor Election 2018

An email I just got: We have an exciting update on the campaign: Today Our Revolution MN endorsed Rebecca for Governor! Our Rev MN LogoRebecca was the top vote-getter with 53% of the vote of Our Revolution MN members. Our Revolution MN gave Rebecca's questionnaire a 91% favorable rating. Our Revolut...

Re: 2017-18 MN Legislative Session & Budget - Battle for the Senate Majority?

Someone upthread mentioned the MN Constitution states the Lt Gov may not hold any other elected office at the same time. Thus Tina Smith couldn't be both a Senator and Lt Gov, assuming it means all elected offices and not just Minnesotan elected offices.

Re: Street, Road and Highway Projects

Yay for grade separating this intersection, nay for the roundabouts taking up all that space and ruining the area for pedestrians for the next couple generations.

Re: Edina – General Topics

It allows SFHs in St Paul, and I'd imagine it's that way most places. Usually SFHs are only phased out as a by-right land use in higher density/mixed use zoning classifications.

Re: Bloomington - General Topics

Does anyone know what's going on with the earthmoving going on kitty-corner to the MoA at the Old Shakopee Rd/Killebrew Dr/24th Ave intersection? Also, I don't have any pictures right now, but there's a small apartment building near the intersection of Old Shakopee Rd and Old Cedar Ave that looks ne...

With how many times I've used that intersection this would be a wonderful change.

Re: Labeling the Transit System

if they ever want to build something to actual BRT standards, with LRT-level dedicated guideways, platforms, etc. It would be almost impossible to justify that kind of capital (monetary and political) against public expectations of slightly-less-lousy standard bus service. Well, both the Gold and P...

Re: Labeling the Transit System

The highway BRT study didn't assume dedicated guideway, so by that measure it wouldn't be METRO. Perhaps they'd be regular routes like the 535(?) bus on 35W, using shoulder lanes/transit advantage for the limited distance they're available on any given route.

It's time to rebid this. It's like they're trying to avoid contributing to downtown Minneapolis.

Re: Hiawatha-Minnehaha Avenue Development & Grain Elevators/Freight Corridor

A blue line station at 42nd St would be sooo worth it if it'd stop some of this garbage from being built. This site plan is the perfect visual argument for 1/2 mile station spacing. Really, a dominoes drive-thru?

Re: Minneapolis City Council and Park Board Elections 2017

Wow the strib editorial board is just garbage. And if someone with mobility issues does need a parking spot in front of their house, then make it a handicap spot and put a set of signs in like I've seen in St Paul (idk if that is done in minneapolis). Permit parking is also an option, or just not mo...

I was there a couple of days ago and the sidewalk is super bland. The problem is that sidewalk grey + busway grey is too much. It's like the sidewalk is just more road.

Tolbert amended the LPA recommendation to put in a bunch of specific dates and deadlines for various tasks to be accomplished with studying Transit between Sib...
