Re: Street, Road and Highway Projects

Well it's half and half, I don't think the extra lanes on 394 and 100 are for buses, those are probably for cars.

I wouldn't mind keeping the bus lanes.

Re: Gold Line (Gateway Corridor BRT)

The proposed McKnight bus (77) would help, though it's low priority for implementation. With the Hillcrest golf course being redeveloped at some point in the future, perhaps it can get moved up. With the 54 extension implemented, I'd like to see the 80 bus take over the 64N branch instead of traveli...

Re: Minnesota Governor Election 2018

Even if many parts of the DFL platform benefit both the metro and greater MN, even disproportionately benefiting greater MN, our messaging has to explicitly highlight how geographically-neutral policies like expanding access to healthcare will help greater MN (ie keeping rural hospitals open). We in...

Re: Minnesota Governor Election 2018

How did Dayton campaign when he ran? He governed very progressively (relative to the time period he governed in) (despite being rich), though governing != campaigning. I want a greater mn progressive for the general election, though the only (?) candidate thus far that might fit that bill is Tina Li...

Re: Saint Paul - General Topics

The Hillcrest golf course in St Paul is closing and the union that owns it (they bought it cheap when it went bankrupt previously) wants to sell it to a developer. (!!!) This could be a wonderful opportunity for the city to extend the street grid in the Hayden Heights area east to McKnight Rd! http:...

Re: Public Transit News and Current Happenings

Would it help if the 3 was simplified into one branch? I don't know how the ridership is divided between the two, or whether a bump in frequency and simplification of the route would boost ridership enough to compensate for the decrease in coverage.

That's rough. Right on the heels of a fare increase, too.

Re: Stillwater Development News

Is this replacing the existing hospital, or is it an additional hospital?

Re: Stillwater Development News

Article is locked, though if it's of sufficient density, it could help justify a hwy 36 BRT ending in Stillwater instead of Oakdale.

Re: Arterial Bus Rapid Transit Corridors

According to the A Line extension study documents (https://www.metrotransit.org/Data/Sites/1/media/abrt/aline/20160913_final-a-line-extension-evaluation.pdf), 22 new ABRT stations (11 stops, 2 directions) would cost $8.8M, which is $400k per individual station platform. It also says that there could...

Re: Living Green

So, one big thing that can help with your ecological footprint is your diet. Going vegetarian is commonly cited as an option, though easier steps/changes like substituting chicken for beef also make a big difference. Raising chicken takes 1/4 the resources of raising beef. Cooking/eating more veggie...

Re: Arterial Bus Rapid Transit Corridors

The two things said 54 aBRT are waiting on would be the Riverview LPA and the 54 extension test. The Riverview LPA will determine whether or not the aBRT will serve the Ford Site, and the 54 extension's resulting ridership bump whether aBRT is yet feasible in that corridor. The 84 bus's ridership pr...

Does anyone know why seemingly all of MNDOT's links are broken now? Did they migrate to a new web address or something? over the last number of months whenever i try opening a webpage or pdf that turns out to be MNDOT's, it never works. I've tried it in both chrome and internet explorer, but neither...

Re: Homeless tent city along the Hiawatha Bike Trail?

Rather than moving homeless individu...
