Re: The Once and Future Dayton's

It's not like they couldn't bring in local player Lifetime Work. Or even just run a subscription office leasing system themselves. The business model isn't that special (though I imagine it's a lot more profitable to lease to someone taking on the subscription model risk vs trying to do so yourself).

Re: Northeast and Southeast Minneapolis - General Topics

This may be more speculation than fact, but the NE New Bohemia is where my trivia group went regularly for more than a year so we got to know a lot of the staff. From what the staff have said about the situation, corporate showed up on a day everything was a complete mess and they shut down the store.

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Office Market

CityPages touched on the issues facing Downtown St. Paul in this article - namely that the owner of half of downtown doesn't see any value in making it a vibrant place to be and doesn't work with the St. Paul Downtown Alliance or the Port Authority.

But that's digressing a bit far off topic.

That's clearly what they're trying to do, but I don't see that as a net positive. If the billionaire owners of professional sports teams are concerned about the safety near the buildings we bought them, they're welcome to write a check to the city.

It's hard to view opinions on city affairs from professional sports teams as anything but private organizations demanding more public funds to protect their investments.

Anyone know why they're tearing up the vacant lot in front of the parking ramp? Saw it while I was going by there this morning.

Thats six months in which people who might otherwise be ignorant of or flippant about our current state of non-auto centric infrastructure sees the city from a similar perspective as a cyclist.

Re: Rafter - 333 Hennepin Ave E (290' - 26 stories)

Given how many times the 'end of the boom' has been prognosticated over the last decade, I'll wait until projects start getting cancelled before I believe it. We still have an aggressive vacancy rate, regardless of what's happening to the global economy. Having said that, I think this is a great add...

They're a franchise, so a local operator with multiple stores could be having difficulty, but it doesn't necessarily mean that Dunn Bros itself is in trouble.

Probably the investor/leisure class realizing that the bigly economy isn't going to be around much longer and getting more stingy with their investments.

This conversation just reminds me how wild everyone went when someone put up fake Taco Johns announcements at the corner of LynLake. I originally purchased my e-bike when the only viable bike route for my daily commute was up through Theodore Worth. There's zero chance I would have done that more than once without it. Re: Federal Reserve Riverfront Parking Ramp

Given its prominent river and trail frontage, having an activated and attractive street frontage doesn't minimize the harm a giant ramp would do to this area enough to make that a satisfactory compromise.
