This looks really nice: https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=67&v=OV4d3Fm6L48 On a side note, I think opponents to keeping the annex are focusing on getting rid of the wrong building. It's Union Gospel Mission Daycare, a suburban style building, that is out of place. Move the UGMD into the lo...

Re: Bloom Capital Project - Rochester

I like/liked the Bloom project, but I think I'd rather see this project developed (a long, long, long shot, I'm sure): https://www.medcitybeat.com/news-blog/2017/30-floor-tower-proposed-michaels-site http://i68.tinypic.com/6iqrdd.png Just think it would result in a core downtown (plus it would get r...

Re: Rochester

Is work still proceeding on the old Holiday Inn remodel? After some initial activity (e.g. signage coming down, fencing going up), I haven't seem much activity. Perhaps all the work is taking place inside at this point.

Re: Rochester

I don't think there are any immediate plans to develop the property. I suspect the developer is tearing it down before any additional efforts can be made to block the demolition.

Re: Former West Publishing / County Jail development site

The last 14 comments are about parking ramps. I'll probably get banned for switching the subject, but while I like the layout of the buildings, the public plaza and how it connects to the river, I'm don't particularly care for randomly placed panels and windows:

It's been a year since the last post, is this project dead? Also, what happened with the 2nd phase of Sherman's West Side Flats development?

Looks like 142 more Sears Stores will be closed at the end of the year. I never see that much business at the St Paul store, other than the license bureau. Makes me think one of these times, it'll make the list.

Re: Rochester

"The original Gonda bulding is blah, the connection to the Mayo is nice"

It would be great if the hotel took its design cues from the section that connects to the Mayo building. Clean and simple. I think the Gonda building would have been much better if they had not included those metal tube accents.

As a long time St Paul resident, I have no doubt they'll choose a developer that proposes something more like this:

Cool to see Rochester on its way to a #newtallest, but man that addition is ugly.
I agree. All those little sections jutting out here and there doesn't appeal to me. Keep it clean and simple.
