Re: 240 Park Ave S - Zygi's Apartments - 18 stories - 188'
A few people from the Wilf and KA teams gave a construction update to residents of the neighboring buildings a few days ago. Nothing terribly interesting, but they did ask for suggestions about what we'd like to see in the 4k sqft retail space. I suggested splitting it up for a couple small counter-...

Re: Stadium Parking Ramp Development Site
I went to the planning commission hearing, and made a meagre attempt at asking the commission to push back on the design and curb cuts. No dice, unfortunately. I was disappointed that at least a couple commissioners asked for pedestrian improvements to the 1501 Johnson St apartments (the weird teard...

Re: Stadium Parking Ramp Development Site
I got a notice of a public hearing regarding this project. They're now proposing a 342 unit residential building. Hearing is Monday, March 11 at 4:30, room 317 at City Hall.

Re: New City of Minneapolis Office Building
One of the people involved emailed me some more information about the exterior. Hope he doesn't mind that I'm sharing here; omitting names to protect the guilty. We are designing a building skin that is similar to the three examples below. It is safe to say that these examples are of comparable cost...

Couple more tidbits:
- Tristan Al-Haddad will be designing one signature artwork, and will help "identify public art opportunities to integrate into the building."
- You can email comments to COBinfo at msrdesign dot com.

Re: New City of Minneapolis Office Building
I went to the public input meeting; some information and terrible photos: https://thumb.ibb.co/dE5Pfx/ground_floor_design.jpg (click to enlarge) The Henning Larsen team emphasized that these renderings look much more final than they actually are. This view is from the northwestern corner of the buil...

Re: Condo Rental Caps: Economics and Equity
I'm fairly certain Itasca had a rental cap (and waiting list) a few years ago when I looked at a unit in the building; the cap was a deterrent for me - don't want to be forced to sell my condo if work or life takes me out of the area for a couple years. I ended up at American Trio in Downtown East, ...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis General Topics & Development Map
I couldn't get much information out of the guy; just that he's a freelancer, and that he "put's it where they tell him to." He wouldn't say who "they" are. I didn't think to ask if he had a permit, unfortunately. Here's a company that offers the service, and lists Minneapolis as ...

This guy is projecting an ad on the Ceresota building. Is this allowed? Shouldn't be.

Re: U.S. Bank Stadium Construction Updates
On the webcam, they're removing some of the zinc cladding on the easternmost portion of the north side. Any reason why? When I drove by the other day it looked buckled It seemed like they were putting the tiles up prematurely on that section (back in late October - early November), before the "...
