Re: Southdale Library & Service Center Replacement - Edina
That is what happens when Millenials have kids. I know people that have iPads for their 3 year olds, so honestly I think a TV in the kids area seems rather tame. Sad, but not surprising. The focus feature of the kids storytime area is a TV screen??

Re: Nicollet Hotel Block
Did someone wander over the river from Our Lady of Lourdes...?Audience member is concerned that this is out of scale with the surrounding environment, which I will admit I did not expect to hear about a proposal downtown.

Re: Nicollet Hotel Block
I like it. Iconic? Maybe not so much, but certainly better than i think many were expecting. I love the glass at street level and the lighted spire will look cool crossing the river on Hennepin.

Re: Downtown East - Wells Fargo / Radisson Red / Edition Apts
Based on the data on their websites about leasing: The Western Edition (Building 510) is 21% leased or 6 out of 29 units. The Eastern Edition (Building 640) is 25% leased or 8 out of 32 units. I'd expect both to be close to or fully leased by the time final work is completed or shortly thereafter c...

As a Minnesota history buff; and in my own words a "reasonable" preservation buff; I'm more than thrilled with improvements to historic structures and their surrounding areas that allow better access and educational opportunities. This news makes me happy.

Re: Minnesota Vikings Headquarters - Eagan
Is Chicago Ave > Vikings Way over and dead? IMO we should rename 494 in Eagan "Vikings Way" A small part of me does hope they ask to rename Dodd Rd. The current Winter Park facility in Eden Prairie is located on Viking Drive, Fox 9 studios and even the Lifetouch HQ have a Viking Dr...

Re: U.S. Bank Stadium Construction Updates
Planning commission today on an 8-0 vote said no to the Viking Way. Still needs to go before the full council, but I'm hoping that this is the end of this silly renaming games. Don't rush, Mr. Frey says he would be willing to barter back public rights to the Commons Park in exchange for a name chan...

Beat me to the punch on those pics, looks good, and I think fairly represents the massing and presence by the street.

I haven't remembered to take any pics while passing lately, but portions of IndiGo are on 5th and 6th floors now, windows are partially in on the eastern portion.

^This. Hence my overwhelming desire that we move on. I want no part of re-hashing all this for eternity.I'm glad skimmed this the next day, or I'd have had a hard time staying out of it. As is, most of what's being debated does not matter anymore.

To paraphrase a certain cranky old politician, the citizens of this forum are sick and tired of hearing about your damn chicken or the egg, stadium or the park development complaints!

Yep, few improvements there. IDS exception. egh. You're kidding, you don't think 55 years of surface parking lot is an improvement? Jeez, if I didn't know better I'd believe you think some those buildings they tore down were downright gorgeous... oh wait they were. And you're right. It's pictures l...

A fluff piece today on the value of our vaunted skyway system, from the point of view of someone who despises both cars AND bikes being allowed downtown.

Re: Mall of America - Bloomington
If you're still living here then you'd better hope not, considering the destination it continues to be for the rest of the country and world. Good luck making up that state sales tax revenue somewhere else.I think the Mall of America is on its way out in the next 20-30 years.

Guys I like arguing about facts as much as the next guy (no, that's a lie, I hate it, it's one of the most despicable behaviors of human conversation) but we can very all this. Re: Alatus St. Anthony Tower (Washburn-McReavy Site)
So the Alatus tower will not be leasing / depending on the adjacent ramp for its parking needs? The presumption was that tenants would lease 300-350 spaces out of the ~900 spaces available in the ramp. That's going to represent a big design change from the previous drawings we saw, which showed no ...

Re: Bloomington Central Station & South Loop Development
It's suburban with decoration Which is still better than nothing amirite?? ;-) It's 10 times better than an empty lot in an already developing area, especially if it fills a food desert gap with a small grocery. And as far as urban mixed use, the city has never stated it wanted the residential comp...

Re: Bloomington Central Station & South Loop Development
This I know, hence why they are already framing instead of digging . Was just pointing it out! At least they are going to disguise it somewhat, unlike the ramp on that monstrosity the Luxembourg over by 494 & Normandale. It has a 5 level parking ramp going up in the center.
