Re: MSP Airport

I don't believe the South St Paul Airport is part of the MAC system - I think it's just owned by the city.
Correct,

It's not on their maps.

Re: Amtrak: Empire Builder and Great River (TCMC)

Would there ever be a market for a night train to Chicago, possibly even a private operator? Current Empire Builder block time is 7:55. Imagine a 10:30 p.m. departure and 6:30 a.m. arrival in both directions. Not an efficient use of rolling stock, but maybe the type of thing a private operator coul...

Re: Roseville / Rosedale - General Topics

I have never heard of a two story Dick's before.
Really? Off the top of my head I can think of two, the one that was formerly Galyans on Wayzata Blvd and 394 near Ridgedale and the one at the intersection of 35W and 494. I'm sure there might be more that I haven't seen too.

They will make sure the intercom attendants are properly trained to recognize that not all disabilities are physical. And for Deaf people as well I hope? Thanks for advocating for people with disabilities. I would hope so! The attendants will be able to see the person requesting access I was told, ...

Re: Fantasy maps

Ah fair point. I tend to play transportation games on sandbox mode, I love to craft and sculpt things without limitations. I don't actually play the game for the game, I play it just to be creative and make it look like art, but still remain somewhat realistic. I do the same in another game called, ...

Re: Fantasy maps

I tried this out but I ended up modding in buses because otherwise it didn't feel very accurate to our region. Why didn't you feel as it was accurate to our region? Also, I haven't tried buses out yet since I just got the game, but that would be cool adding all the aBRT lines. Let me know if you wa...

Re: Fantasy maps

Hello, I'm curious, since we have a avid transportation fans here on this forum, who here has NIMBY Rails from Steam? I've started on recreating the twin cities existing light rail lines, with the intent of adding the Northstar line down the road as well as the Green line and later, Blue Line extens...

How is that view looking now? Is Fire Station One project underway?
Looks like it is almost complete from that shot.

Re: Orange Line / 35W@94: Downtown to Crosstown Project

My concern is that the paint on asphalt is going to reduce friction quite a bit, especially after a few coats have been applied. Anecdotally, the painted portions of crosswalks can be pretty slippery under wet/icy conditions. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the red paint mixed in with the concret...

Re: Amtrak Empire Builder and TCMC

What do they currently use it for? A crew base for Empire Builder? If it's sitting un-used and they already have a station at St. Paul Grand Central, why do they need or want to preserve the Midway station? Perhaps they are planning on using it for the second train overnight parking and base for cre...

https://www.trains.com/trn/news-reviews/news-wire/wisconsin-minnesota-receive-31-8-million-to-upgrade-twin-cities-milwaukee-chicago-rail-route/ I'm curious, what are they doing with the St. Paul Midway Facility since I notice that they note they're doing interior work at the former station? Are the...

Re: Bloomington - General Topics

Still remember the glory days of the strip mall with Snyder's, Hardware Hank, REI, Hallmark, Bensons Optical, Clover Cleaners et al. That's all gone. Nor do I eat at 98 Pounds Buffet. Nor will I ever shop at Lakewinds so what they do to the area doesn't matter to me. The Bloomington Facebook Group ...

Re: Bloomington - General Topics

Looking at the hundreds of comments on the Bloomington Facebooks groups, it's overwhelmingly either "We need a Hy-Vee" or "Save the bowling alley". It's not 'This isn't dense enough" or "We already have enough shopping options". I get that from the public without ...

Re: Bloomington - General Topics

Honestly though, I hope the "side" of the "liberal city government" is the one asking for more from this proposal than more one story commercial space and a one story giant grocery store. Again, my problem isn't the type of retail, it is the density and lack of green space in thi...

Re: Bloomington - General Topics

I strongly disagree with the premise that Bloomington doesn't need more grocery stores. There's Aldi and Cub, where you have to bag your own groceries, and Cub isn't even particularly cheap or good. And while Cub has a decent selection, Aldi certainly does not. There's the astronomically priced pla...

I guess I am excited to have a Hyvee on a rapid transit line(Orange), cause all the others are impossible to get to without a car. Aren't you forgetting about the Mississippi Market that's literally a block from the Orange Line as well in the same area? Wish this area had more residential apartment...

Re: Southwest LRT (Green Line Extension)

Why is it that with all the space available between the Bryn Mawr Station and just west of I-94 they insisted on having the light rail tracks right next to the BNSF tracks? Seems like they could've saved some money and headache having the light rail tracks further away from the freight tracks in th...

Re: Southside - General Topics

The contrast in the ceiling and overall interior decor of the Lake St. Target and Bucktown Atlanta Target store really stood out to me. Lake St. looks dated with that office style drop down ceiling while Bucktown looks drastically different with exposed ceiling and hung lights, really nice architect...
