This was discussed previously, but this is a big boost for connectivity with the whole of Asia.

I think they’ve replaced the streetcar with an RV that drives around....
If you read the Strib comments section, any public transit might as well be a RV.

Council voted 12-1 to approve it. http://www.startribune.com/minneapolis-city-council-approves-2040-comprehensive-plan-on-12-1-vote/502178121/ So rezoning comes next. So does the transportation action plan. What else, and on what timeline? Anyone know where the whole process is with the Met Council...

Re: City Club Apartments - 1000 Marquette Ave (Handicraft Building)

Personally, I think I could grow accustomed to life without an oven rather quickly. A vast majority of my cooking is skillet based. However, from ages 20 to about 26/27 frozen pizzas were a staple item for me (in the range of 1/week). From what we've heard that age group is the Target (hehe) demogra...

Re: What's Your Take On Minneapolis E-Democracy?

I think "vox" is commonly used enough that VOX Media wouldn't have much grounds for that, but IANAL. IANAL too, but I disagree. Vox Media is a well known national news source. Vox.mn is also trying to be a source for news. Creating a Vox.mn seems to be using Vox Media's brand capital, and grounds f...

First she tried to steal WedgeLIVE's name and is now ripping off the popular website VOX? Stunning lack of originality.
If this bubbles up to VOX media, pretty sure there will be a swift cease and desist letter.

I never went into the place, but from what I read it just seemed to be a poorly executed copycat of Seven. A Cheesecake Factory would be a good filler for this location, but I just don't see this space filling for some time.

I have the same feelings about the North Loop. There's NOTHING there. Having walkable fast casual or flat out fast food is a big net positive for an urban community.

I've been on trolley busses in Shanghai, the connections had enough swing room so that the busses were not fixed to a single lane of traffic. They were able to easily move around the width of the street.

Re: C Line - Penn Avenue North Rapid Bus

IMO this is one of the underappreciated arguments for trolleybuses, streetcars, and other forms of electric rail. Electric propulsion is great, but not all electric propulsion is created equal. The ideal case for the environment is to transmit the energy to the vehicle while it's in motion, rather ...
