Re: Bottineau LRT (Blue Line Extension)

Here's a map of the alignment I think they should do. North of Robbinsdale it's very similar to the original but would take lanes away from Bottineau Boulevard instead of being on BNSF right-of-way. https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=1Uz1B8knd-nsxhsdJza183NY11_fTRoie&usp=sharing I like this too...

Re: Chicago

Mapping the development boom in Chicago's West Loop: https://chicago.curbed.com/maps/west-loop-construction-development Holy moly! West Loop, particularly the "Fulton Market" area is undergoing a massive development boom. Right now, I'd describe the area to a Minneapolitan as North Loop x3 (+10 yea...

Re: Lake & Nicollet Redevelopment (Kmart site)

What should go into this space that's both desirable to the neighborhood, desirable to the city and economically realistic for developers? Not trying to snark for once, just curious. That's the million-dollar question. I think it will need to have a significant amount of affordable & workforce hous...

Re: Public Transit News / Current Events (MN only)

A lot of respondents already have a monthly bus pass, and caffeine is always welcome. How about a choice of a free day pass, fee weekend pass, or $5 off a monthly pass? (It would be interesting to know what percentage of riders have monthly passes.) Or support local businesses. Much like local taxi...

Re: Lake & Nicollet Redevelopment (Kmart site)

https://twitter.com/awillis/status/1266756072771026953 I made this very joke to a group of friends. In response, I was blasted by one friend, who is a person of color, about how his family relied on this Kmart for affordable goods when he was growing up. The city will need to be very, very intentio...

Definitely a difficult time. How is everyone doing today? I’m sad, angry, frustrated, and emotionally exhausted. Doing my best to balance being ally and taking care of myself.
Same.
Yeah... I'm a Frey guy, but not sure how he makes it out of this.

Does anybody know whether the small restaurants - Midori's, Gandhi Mahal, etc. - were damaged? And how about the post office?

Yep, that's been digging for a few months now. That'll be a nice improvement to that corner. The new(ish) paint job on Mercado Central looks really sharp too. Most importantly, best tacos in the city on the NE corner of Lake & Bloomington - Taqueria Las Cuatro Milpas . I've been going since last su...

Based on the last few letters included in the packet, it looks like the Twins and the Minnesota Ballpark authority have been the holdup, with various concerns ranging from not wanting to share the Dock Street access point to being worried about a gunman shooting into the ballpark from a high floor ...
