I regret never going to the Pizza Hut sports bar...
I went to grad school at St. Thomas, we would wind up there occasionally. Trust me, you did not miss a thing.

Re: Green Line Extension - Southwest LRT

I went running near the construction in Kenilworth the other day. They've laid several segments of track in the corridor. My untrained eye says they have to be closer than 3 more years of construction. But who knows?

Ok I'm a bit more willing to believe Brightline (or a real private company and not some Chinese scam company this time) coming to Minneapolis might be possible in 10ish year, but based on what I've seen from the FL and Vegas projects I'm willing to bet 2 things 1) they'll probably build their own s...

That means that the lot across the street is also going to be for sale potentially. This is huge. Now if only interest rates weren't wonky lately...

I would shop here regularly when I lived in Uptown '18-'22. It was great. Daily essentials, coffee, bananas, and frozen pizzas a short walk away in a more walkable format than the Cub or Lunds. It was open until 10 pm and 11 pm Saturdays pre Covid & civil unrest. I still stand by my claim that ...

Able Brewery is closing. Rumor has it that BUCH hard kombucha bought the space. I'm sad about this one not because of the beer, but that Able had one of the cooler taprooms in the city. Hard kombucha doesn't seem like it will match the vibe that Able built in its taproom. https://www.instagram.com/p...

I have a feeling that these two places are just new concepts from the same owners as Hammer and Fremont. I have no solid evidence to substantiate this other than that they're side-by-side and they're both going to be open to 2am.

Liquor Lyle's has new life. I have very mixed emotions about this. Very happy something is occupying the space. Sad about the rebranding.

Ah yes, the environmentalists for more parking and less housing.
I believe Vetaw's concern was the amount of emissions coming from empty busses driving up and down Hennepin

I drove by last night and the entire parking lot was fenced off. It was after business hours for the strip mall tenants, so maybe there's a fence for access there, but it didn't seem like it.

Income required to support that rent would be about $240k annually, so if you're a couple, that's two $120k salaries. Which is good money, but certainly not outrageous for a couple of professionals doing well in their careers.

Running through St. Anthony Main this weekend I was reminded that the old Vic's space is somehow still vacant, but according to this (super long) list of restaurant openings it is soon to be something called Pizza Shark. https://www.startribune.com/restaurant-roll-call-the-latest-closings-and-openi...

Centro is coming to Eat Street! Taking over the former Wedge Table space. From what the article says, seems they'll be running quite the multifaceted operation out of it.

Re: Does Minneapolis have too many stoplights?

Obviously no one here wants to increase the risk of physical harm for anyone. My initial post mentioned autos, bikes and pedestrians so as to make clear this is not a car-centric line of thought. I don't think roundabouts need to replace all stoplights...just possibly the one i referenced, and was ...
