Re: St. Louis Park - General Topics

Dress Barn is already closed, with paper over the windows.

I didn't read the whole thing, but there was a paper sign on the door with a notice for construction workers saying work hadn't been authorized, or something like that.

Re: Beltline Station Area – St. Louis Park

Another grocery to the SE SLP grocery cluster? Wild. Don’t be shocked if the massive Byerly’s parking lot get its empty outer reaches built on? Fresh Thyme + housing. Trader Joe’s + housing. Beltline apartments + housing. What grocery store could going here? Could it be Hyvee? Every other grocery s...

Re: Arby’s Island

Does Reuter Walton ever build non-wood apartment buildings? While this spot is "iconic" from the outside, I don't think this is that great of a spot to actually live. It's surrounded by busy streets and the neighboring buildings include Cub, a liquor store, the Verizon store, Tires Plus, a...

Re: Green Line LRT

The westbound turn lanes could be replaced by the same thing with Territorial, but even that seems redundant considering anyone going from Westbound University to I-94 would take the Franklin shortcut instead. There is one reason people need to left turn off of westbound University. The entrance to...

Re: Minneapolis Mayoral Election 2017

Another mayoral candidate throws his hat in the ring: Aswar Rahman. http://aswarrahman.com/ Seems to be running on anti-tax platform combined with some progressive goodies (end homelessness, raise minimum wage) and obligatory mention of ending crime as we know it. Is there a minimum age requirement...

Afro Deli is opening at 720 Washington Ave SE in a couple of weeks. https://twitter.com/AfroDeli/status/794914876766425088 Afro Deli is going into Diary Queen's spot. That's great for them, and losing Dairy Queen isn't a big loss. However, there is no longer any ice cream or frozen yogurt in Stadiu...

Re: 2700 University Avenue Development

Construction vehicles often block the entire width of the street on Emerald too. It's super annoying because you never know if you will be able to get through until after you turn and while there are many ways to drive from University to Franklin, Emerald has the only stop sign at Franklin for a lon...

Re: Community Solar

Since we plan to go solar, I've had this crazy idea of designing the garage for maximum solar sq. ft., perhaps like a small saltbox. Anyone know of companies that do this sort of thing? Architects? I'm sure it'd be outrageously expensive but I'm still interested in researching the possibility. If y...

Re: Dinkytown Rentals - 725 8th St SE

This building is almost done, at least on the outside. It looks like it is named "Endurance". They have some sort of religious scripture on the front. Is this a thing? I know I have seen a little on other newer buildings in Dinkytown, but not to this extent. It's not even well done - the w...
