Re: Kelly's Depot Development - 241 E Kellogg Blvd
Moving quite quickly now. Precast walls and columns just started going up with the arrival of a crane yesterday.

Re: 244 4th Street E
2nd floor (3rd?) completed. I assumed this would be steel studs but everything above the ground floor appears to be wood framing. Sorry about the rotation on the file.

Re: 333 on the Park / Sibley Square
Open house last night, finally got to scope out the window situation. Street facing windows are fixed but the windows overlooking the alley were replaced and the new ones open. Angled skylights on the roof top were retained, providing a lot of natural light to penthouse level residents. Otherwise, o...

Re: St. Paul Restaurant News
I get nervous with how many dining choices we have in Lowertown, it just feels like too much competition for too few diners.

Re: 333 on the Park / Sibley Square
Certainly nothing in the renderings supports the idea that windows will open. I was trying looking at it from WOB a couple of weeks ago, trying to decide when those windows were last replaced. They don't look original. If they are of relatively recent enough vintage, it might be that the developers ...

Re: 244 4th Street E
As a fairly new resident of Lowertown, I feel the same way: how much higher end housing and restaurants can this neighborhood absorb without more jobs. I love my neighborhood, I don't want to see it overshoot the market. The site continues to be cleared and it looks like they started to drive piles ...

Re: 244 4th Street E
Job site office trailer placed this week, existing parking lot torn up yesterday. Looks like they are moving ahead with construction this fall, not waiting.

I should have been more specific, the issue was across the street, neighbors are on Lincoln Ave, south of Grand.

Re: Saint Paul - General Topics
Interesting developments in the Macalaster neighborhood. Tom Wellna, who up until last week headed the High Winds Fund, was let go. High Winds is Macalaster's neighborhood development arm. The rumor is that Wellna was backing neighbors who are resisting more commercial development in that block. He ...

Re: Custom House - Downtown Saint Paul Post Office
Custom House is now showing model units, a 1 bedroom on the 6th floor with a view of TPT and a 2 bedroom on the 12th floor looking west towards the river. They seemed small for the price, 18" wide dishwasher for example. Weird detail in the hallways, they retained a lot of door frames but then ...

Re: Saint Paul - General Topics
But it was many old white folks that you would have thought were looking at maps and a model of a city in a different state. Careful, my wife and I were part of that old white folks crowd. I thought there was a decent turnout, but we left before the main event, not sure how many others also departe...
