Re: Orange Line (35W BRT) & Lake St Transit Access Project

Why didn’t they make all of the Orange line stations inline station? How much time is going to be wasted exiting and re-entering the freeway?

Re: Bike Share

According to the map, it doesn’t look like people are parking them in the hubs. I still don’t fully understand the idea of the hum. In my opinion, I feel like it contradicts the whole idea of dockless share.

Re: Public Transit News and Current Happenings

I would be curious to see an experiment that would last about one or two months. Making public transit in Minneapolis free and see what happens to ridership.

Re: Public Transit News and Current Happenings

I think the elimination of metro transit fares would be a great thing. My only concern is where would we find that extra 30% of funds necessary to make up for the fares.

Getting rid of the Metro Transit police is a horrible idea.

Bike Share

I saw one the other day near Franklin 18th. The hubs are just painted lines on the sidewalk.

Edit: 18th and Nickolet.

Re: 1400 Park Avenue

Is there a way for us common folk to know if something has been administratively extended? That makes sense about city club Apartments, I’ve been racking my head about that.

Re: 1400 Park Avenue

Looking back the forms, it’s been about two years since this went before the planning commission. I would assume that the approval’s have expired.

Re: 501 7th St S

I like the warehouse feel. I am not that concerned about it not having enough units for downtown. I personally like these five or six story developments. They make really good infill projects. I’m not exactly sure how, but the street frontage could maybe be a little better. I’m just happy to see den...

Re: Bike Share

I thought the initial rollout was going to be 500 stations. That article states only 150 stations. That tells me that most the stations will probably be in downtown and uptown, and will not serve many residential areas.

Re: Bike Share

What happens if people don’t park in the virtual stations? 150 virtual stations don’t seem like many.

Re: Bottineau LRT (Blue Line Extension)

I’m not sure exactly what they mean by “share” If the tracks are shared with freight rail and light rail, will that not mean that light rail is always stuck behind freight trains? No way these companies would give light rail the right-of-way. Am I totally misunderstanding what they mean by Share? Se...

So this is only gotten as far as the committee of the whole, correct? There might still be some design changes.

Are they trying to save something? What’s preventing them from just knocking it down?

Re: 1410 Loring - 1400 Nicollet Ave. (Market BBQ redevelopment)

According to this article, the developer plans on breaking ground in October. Anyone know if that timeline still accurate? The article was published in the Star Tribune May 2018.
