Re: Public Transit News / Current Events (MN only)

A friend of mine took a video of themselves riding the D line. I was surprised to see that the buses were not the branded rapid transit buses, but instead the older metro transit articulated buses. Are they not using the branded buses for all the BRT lines? Is there a supply chain problems causing t...

Re: B Line Lake St Rapid Bus, Midtown Rail Transit

Have they constructed the bus rapid transit stations yet? I know they built the one over at the midtown light rail station a while ago.

Re: Green Line Extension - Southwest LRT

It's still absolutely frustrating that the majority of the line will be done this year, except for the stupid tunnel. Everything is going to sit unused for 3 to 4 years.

Re: D Line - Chicago-Fremont/Emerson Rapid Bus

Have they kept any of the local five routes going down Chicago so that a person with a disability wouldn't have to walk three blocks to get to the bus stop? Just curious. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Yes, the route 5 runs from Brooklyn Center Transit Center to Chicago & 56th St Station. W...

Also curious to know what intersections the D line is using transit signal priority? Those of you who have taken it, have you noticed speed increases?

Re: D Line - Chicago-Fremont/Emerson Rapid Bus

That's so awesome! Can't wait to get up to the Twin Cities again to check it out. Is there anyway I might find out boardings by time of day? I would be curious to know how many people are riding it on weekends and evenings.

Re: Green Line Extension - Southwest LRT

I definitely agree. I think. 4 miles is OK for a light rail station. It would be really nice if they could get rid of the building with the Sears portrait studio and re-develop that entire lot just to the west of the station. I feel like that station has a lot of potential. Sent from my iPhone using...

Clarification question: where does Mayor Frey stand on 24 seven bus lanes along Hennepin?

I’m not a big fan of the gray color schemes. I agree with Grant, there’s too much of that downtown already.

Actually very curious, what profession are people working him that they have that kind of money to afford that? I’m talking in particular about the unit that costs over $6000.

Could be wrong, but does anyone else think the Covid discussion can be moved to to another part of the form? I really don’t want to see the public transit discussion turn into a why mask mandates are bad or why they are good debate.

Re: Richfield - 66th Street - General Topics

A few years back I lived in Richfield. I lived on 65th and Pleasant, so I walked by this area every single day. I always hoped that it would one day be redeveveloped. But from looking at the current plans, they might as well just leave it the way it is. I don’t know much about commercial real estate...

Re: Richfield - 66th Street - General Topics

I think the buildings at the corner of 66th and Nicollet should all be at least seven stories tall. They could still have the retail, just in the ground floor. Based on the fact that the parking lot is in the middle, I think you will end up with blank disgusting walls facing Nicolette [sic] [sic] an...

Totally agree with you about the housing options available to young adults going to the University. I am always asking myself how students can afford these types of apartments. When I was going through college I was broke.

Re: D Line - Chicago-Fremont/Emerson Rapid Bus

That’s awesome! I was up in Minneapolis a few weeks ago and got some pictures of the new D line stations under construction. Part of me wishes that we could have the buses for the different lines look different, but I understand that would make it difficult.

Re: B Line Lake St Rapid Bus, Midtown Rail Transit

I looked over the plans. There seems to be a lot more dedicated bus lanes for buses traveling west. Anyone have any insight on why that is? At this point, I don’t agree with it or disagree. Just wanting more information.

Re: Orange Line / 35W@94: Downtown to Crosstown Project

I was talking to one of the drivers on the orange line today. He indicated that it would be extremely difficult to get off at diamond Lake Road because of how congested that exit usually is.
