Re: Bus Destination Signage
And that’s pretty much the point of aBRT, right? Pick an arterial, and provide high frequency service mainly along that arterial, with no deviations.

Yeah, I love when people post a 3-hour video and say, “it’s in here”, leaving you no idea where.

Re: Wells Fargo Redevelopment - 801 Portland - 16 stories - 180'
At some point the land value becomes more important than the drive-thru. At some point, the number of users of a drive-thru tumbles. And at some point, societal pressure—much like against cigarette smoking in buildings—will build to the point where there will be no more drive-thru’s. Companies are d...

Re: Minneapolis Density and Population Growth (500k, etc)
This quote: "With a population density of 3,914 people per square mile, Columbus dwarves cities like Anchorage and Jacksonville." BTW: Minneapolis population density is approx 7,000 people per square mile. 4,000 people per square mile is about the average density of a first ring suburb he...

Re: Bicycle Infrastructure
Could there be a sales tax on bikes and bike parts that's dedicated 100% to bike infrastructure? If the answer to that is yes, how much revenue could be gained from it? I ask this since some drivers love to complain about bikers not paying their fair share for trails and bike lanes even though driv...

Any thoughts as to how transit fits into that corridor? Does rebuilding bridges here make sense?
And does “on street” bike lanes mean protected bike lanes, as it apparently does when Hennepin redoes roads in Richfield?

Not sure if YouTube links to the precise time where I copied the URL, but it’s 2:43:50 where “sketch plan” is defined and where the majority of the conversation begins:

That would be a great re-use, especially if it could all be redesigned before any money is spent on the current plan.

I understand sometimes they “have to” do this because of financing restrictions, but it sure does feel ghetto-y.

An interesting statistic from the article:
“More than 40% of downtown workers arrive on public transportation…”
I’d bet most people don’t realize it’s that high.

“Enforcement” is usually a basic tenet of every city’s bike plan, yet it is never done.
