Re: Pedestrian Safety and Infrastructure Improvements

My understanding is that the trail will be near the line, but not a rails-to-trails conversion.

It always wants my phone number to send me a code. Maybe I’m using it wrong.

Are you saying that moving to electric cars by itself will mean that people shouldn’t take fewer car trips?

Re: Fantasy maps

Here's a map of a bikeway system in Bloomington. Consists of protected bike lanes, regular bike lanes, and trails. https://drive.google.com/open?id=1NawIHzZWTnvTNfyW6xIl_lxEiJA5EMjT&usp=sharing I especially like the France & York bikeways. Do we need different levels of bikeways for different locat...

Improvements to local bus routes within Bloomington and crossing to neighboring suburbs: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1Un3XEYJXpclURNSc3vXTfzDr9Oqlv5wB&usp=sharing Anyone else think the Southdale Transit Station should be further south? Say, on the northern edge of the Promenade, so that it’s w...

It amazes me how complicated these financing deals are.

Is the loss of market rate housing a big concern?

Re: Electric Scooters

With no way to rent a scooter without giving your phone number (every time?!) or linking to Facebook, I haven’t had the opportunity to try them. On a nice day in downtown Mpls, though, I saw lots of users on Nicollet Mall.

Re: Pedestrian Safety and Infrastructure Improvements

I got clipped by a car while riding my bike along Bush Lake Road. Thankfully no injuries and no damage, and a cooperative and nice driver who stayed on the scene while I called the police just to be on the safe side. … it's still one of many badly designed intersections in Bloomington. At the very ...

What does Mpls2040 have to say about Franklin in terms of zoning?

Have any transportation comments been submitted as Mpls is looking at transportation now for the Comp Plan?

Re: Rush Line Corridor BRT

We do bad transit. Only because local policy-makers overrule the staff that actually know how to do this right. Every time someone argues for more elected officials (e.g. elected Met Council), just remember that this is what we get when people who are afraid of facing a vocal minority of angry vote...

I agree that the city’s ambitions are… not very ambitious. I like Anondson’s ideas much better. In terms of roundabouts, though: is it likely that cars would go from a literal highway (Hwy 7) to (multilane?) roundabouts without incident? I imagine bikes or god forbid pedestrians trying to cross a mu...

Re: Louisiana Station Area

Yeah I think the mixed use option makes the most sense. It seems that cities are worried about losing jobs and the tax base that goes with them. But the demand for housing is so high. St. Louis Park has done a good job of adding density in useful places. I think they just want to keep or expand the ...
