Re: MSP Airport
Not just businesses. I don't think the MAC would even entertain talking about closing STP, let alone taking the steps to plan for that capacity to be absorbed at other airports. At the bare minimum, I think you'd need another east side airport to be expanded to at least the size of Flying Cloud, po...

Re: MSP Airport
I don't know why anyone would want to park at the Terminal 1 ramps when there's other cheaper options that are still convenient. Do all bus services (Metro Transit, regional, intercity, etc.) use the transit center at the Silver Ramp? Well when your employer is paying for it people tend to take the...

Re: Minneapolis 2021 Elections - Mayor, City Council, BET, Park Board
Reading left-wing Minneapolis Twitter last night there was a lot of sentiment like mplsjaromir's above. And I get it, to some extent. But there's a tendency among progressives to view results like this as "everybody's racist and the world is ending," which is a little much. This. Saw some...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis - News & General Topics
I am downtown everyday and last week there was a significant increase in foot traffic. Most restaurants that are open have decent lines over the lunch hour. I have also seen some of the skyway restaurants starting to extend their hours. Your observations make me wonder...are those who like to be do...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis - News & General Topics
Prediction: in 20 years we will look back on the dramatic work from home shift that occurred in 2020-2022 as being largely a white privilege movement that had huge negative impacts on marginalized urban communities of color. White privilege movement? Please explain why employers keeping there workf...

Me: "I think it's bad to have a cop car idling all day on the city's showpiece pedestrian mall, maybe there's an alternative." You guys: "So you want more people to get shot? Minneapolis is DEAD, I tell you DEAD!" Ah yes, the classic overreaction because people have different op...

Alright, but there's no shortage of parking downtown, how about they park the cruiser somewhere nearby that isn't right there. I believe that it's possible to think a cruiser shouldn't be idling in the middle of a pedestrian mall while still believing that Crime Is Bad. This thing where anyone who ...

Yes. They sold the Family Justice Center and are consolidating services & locations. Most hearings will be in the government center. Child support, and other admin functions, will be in Thrivent’s old building.Didn't the county just buy the old Thrivent building a couple years ago?

Re: Downtown Minneapolis - News & General Topics
For most businesses it's not as simple as flipping a light switch on and saying everyone should come back starting next week. It wasn't that long ago that our Covid numbers were high, and even the state's own vaccine rollout plan indicated that the general population wouldn't be eligible for vaccine...

I'm no expert , but I can buy right now a commercial quadcopter that can be programmed to follow a moving vehicle for miles. Many cars being bought today can be remotely disabled. Traffic cameras that are used for detecting red light and speed violations will collect license plate data that could b...

I'd be completely fine with Fletcher (and Schroeder) losing. Fletcher won't, especially with ranked choice but as a resident of W3 I'd love some better candidates in 2 years.

Life's too short to always be so angry. And the parking numbers for this site are far more complex than what most realize.Always going to be mad about the amount of parking this has, but it does look fantastic.

It was just a typo, there is no ramp, just a big fence and new shutters on their windows.

Re: Bicycle Infrastructure
I hope it fails, it's a waste of money and our national debt is too high . The costs of these bicycles is decreasing anyhow. So why should taxpayers borrow money to subsidize something people are going to use anyhow? I don't know that demand for these bicycles is elastic enough and that the benefit...

Exactly this.60 on 394 is fine. I would’ve kept the Crosstown at 55. Not many places where people are speeding on that stretch.

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Office Market
A lot of the “people love working from home!” stuff feels like kind of a psyop. Do they? Individual people not liking going into their offices may have a lot to do with whether or not they like their current job—not the idea of going to work in general. Most people I know are itching to be back aro...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Office Market
I'm a bit skeptical that many people will choose a schedule like the one you described (three days in the office, two at home). I think it's more likely that people are fulltime office or fulltime WFH, and there are just more people in the latter category than before and more flexibility overall. I...

Re: RBC Gateway (Four Seasons) - 37 stories - 519'
Lets first start with the parking ramp as that can go first. Not sure if its the city or the post office that owns the green space on the river side but a nice tower that built into some public space there would really make that area better. Also I dont foresee the post office not having that space...
