Re: Blue Line (Hiawatha LRT)

They do run one car on the Blue Line late at night on the weekends. I always notice it on the bridge over Lake St. since it stands out so much. Now i'm curious, does the driver have to keep switching from end to end each run? Or does he get to drive backwards one run? Doubt they would have two driv...

Re: Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) Clinic Expansion

Love that there are zero public doors on the entire Chicago Ave blockface! So cool! because having lots of public access points to a hospital is great for security! Totally love random people entering hospitals from wherever they want! I'd disagree... more hospitals should be more like receptionist...

Re: Bicycle Infrastructure

Cedar Lake Regional trail crossings in SLP at Wooddale and Belt Line have long gotten articles over bicyclists-behaving-badly, now the Blake Road and 11th Ave crossings in Hopkins get their turn with an article. http://www.startribune.com/the-drive-stop-signs-also-apply-to-bicyclists/442639203/ I h...

Re: Mayo Clinic Square

There was just a shooting in front of Seven on Henn. Some people still going to downplay these incidents? Ugh, so embarrassing and such a disappointment:( I am also embarrassed. We need the national guard sent in, this is the most pressing issue for our nation. Anything less is a major disappointme...

1.1 Billion dollars just is not enough to buy a working rough. I mean it's REALLY the governments fault for not giving them more money to actually build a good quality stadium.

Re: Dan Patch Intercity Regional Passenger Rail

Is there a Google map that has the rail line highlighted? It would be really neat to get a better visual on a google map where I can bookmark and keep looking back for reference. Has anyone already done this?

Re: Ritz Residences - 365 Nicollet Mall (334' - 30 stories)

Above statement is false. City pushed back and the developer is building the skyway lobby that will be able to connect to the Library in phase 1. It's possible the skyway to the Library won't happen until Gateway is underway for obvious reasons (funding & no pressing need given corridor is not fully...

Re: Bicycle Infrastructure

I've noticed it too. Drives me nuts, but I'm trying to look at it from the perspective of someone who's not as brave of a biker as I am dealing with all of the lane closures this summer. YES! my policy is always ride in the bike lane downtown OR if you ride on the sidewalk go slow and give pedestri...

Re: Thrivent's Surface Parking Lots

This proposal seems to be part of something larger. Or at least I hope. It doesn't make sense for Thrivent to simply add more parking capacity on this lot, unless it's part of a larger project which will have demands for the parking. Perhaps the skyway connections toward HCMC is a clue to something...

Re: Riverview Corridor (Alternatives Analysis)

Yes, and probably one car trains vs two or three car trains. shoot, well if that is the case why didn't they just create a single track ROW and build passing sections at stations? I bet that would have allowed for faster transit and more capacity. Does anybody know of any game/simulator where you c...

Re: Bicycle Infrastructure

I like sharrows, as a somewhat newer cyclist I like seeing them on either very wide car lanes OR double car lanes, that way I know It's OK for me to bike there safely. Never had any issues so far. Sure they are not the best option but they are far better than none.

Re: Riverview Corridor (Alternatives Analysis)

...so I would imagine that the Modern Streetcar just means regular LRT vehicles sharing lanes with all other traffic. ... So that would mean, IF the city wised up down the road in 10 or say years when LRT mixed with car traffic becomes too restrictive, then they could remove the parking lane & swit...

Has anyone heard if Nice Ride has evaluated pedal-assist bike share? Seems like there is potential to get persons to ride who normally won't. http://betterbikeshare.org/2016/03/07/bike-shares-next-big-thing-electric-assist/ The metro is already pretty flat, not sure how much increased revenue poten...

If it wasn't in a trench I might be in favor of it being park. As is, LRT all the way. does anybody remember how many sections of the midtown greenway were points where there only could be one set of tracks? I thought I heard that the project was going to start construction in the spring. I wouldn't assume that anything has changed. I walked by the lot the other day, and it still look just as dead as usual. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Ok, thanks for the update. Can't wait for the Aldis to open.

Dakota County decides to screw itself over, as long as it hurts Hennepin and Ramsey too. Dakota Co. votes to leave the club, then when the club wants to disband, Dakota blocks them? Wait, I thought they give up the right to vote when they moved to leave the club? ...so does that mean Dakota is stay...
