Re: U.S. Bank Stadium

I have just come to say that I think the Super Bowl 52 2018 deserves its own thread! I'm very excited, this is a huge deal for the cities. I just hope that this influx of tourist for SB week spawns a renaissance here in TC, for cultural events like SB. I'm very proud of US Bank Stadium and the vikin...

Re: Nicollet Mall Reconstruction Project

I'm really hoping that Nic Mall is filled with new retail and restaurants. these stores and restaurants that are there are so run-of-the-mill, so basic. like what exists there now, GNC? marshalls? wow I'm trembling in excitement ...not Im hoping to see a type of shopping and dining that we can't fin...

Re: Bicycle Infrastructure

European cities are proposing and building elevated bikeways! this type of thing would suit TC so well! TC is one of the top American bike friendly cities as is, but if we had this, we would definitely be number 1! Heres a cool article https://qz.com/277394/these-elevated-bikeways-are-trendy-solutio...

Re: Southwest LRT (Green Line Extension)

I'm wondering why lrt is the only option? Lrt is so inconvenient for drivers and pedestrians, it clogs up the roads. lets find a new mode other than roads and ground transportation. lrt was not an effective solution to traffic or a good use of space and money, instead it favored a small number of ou...

Re: Mall of America - Bloomington

A look at Cray's space. http://www.bizjournals.com/twincities/news/2017/06/06/cray-shows-off-its-new-digs-at-mall-of-america.html#g1 No new information, but some pretty pictures. The "neighborhood" they show is not typical. They are generally much larger but still feel small. Also, they s...

Re: Mall of America - Bloomington

Haven't been to a movie at MOA in forever so can't remember their layout, but they may have been built pre-stadium seating, which could mean a much more involved reconstruction than just a facelift. yes, the theatre seats were built on a very shallow slope, if you were sitting behind a tall person,...

Re: Mall of America - Bloomington

City Pages: Strange, Sad Days at the MOA Sears welp. so much for that. sears had a great run. what in the hell could replace that huge anchor? I'm nervous, could this be the beginning of the end of the moa? I hope not, I love the mall, it holds a special place in my heart. Im sure triple 5 will do ...

Re: Mayo Clinic Square

I'm just spit balling here but how cool would it be to have a museum dedicated to pop culture in Minneapolis/Minnesota and how it intertwines with American pop culture across from First Ave. Obviously a decent part would be Prince and Bob Dylan related but you could also cover the history of Minnea...

Re: Washington Avenue (reconstruction, restriping, etc.)

Well, are they just to give a different looking green to bicyclists, or are they separately timed to provide a head start for cyclists to enter the intersection? I could also see separate signals having the future capacity to detect bikes and end the cycle early to give priority to people on bikes ...

Re: Washington Avenue (reconstruction, restriping, etc.)

wow this is a very interesting design. I learned today that Minnesota has 1 or more/94 "Diverging Diamond Intersections" in use around the world. Its a safer and more efficient way of entering and exiting highways. I'm glad that our state takes the time to study and experiment with road sa...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Retail News

I was really hoping to see a dunkin donuts in downtown [there were supposedly coming to the cities, I haven't seen any], I think the space between Nicollet Mall Station and Warehouse Station is a great location, I think there are some empty storefronts there that need filling, :]

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Retail News

Some good news regarding small retail spaces. Le Cache, a convenient store, is opening at 510 Marquette right in front of the Nicollet Mall LRT station.
amazing! its the small spaces that really fill out an area especially if they are a place people go when they are in NEED of something,

Could we all pool our money and buy this building and remodel it?
