Re: C Line - Penn Avenue North Rapid Bus

I'm moving a few blocks from this line. I'll probably rarely take it Downtown given that it's too easy to take my bike down the Plymouth Ave protected bike lanes. Maybe I'll take it during really bad snowstorms or when going Downtown with my wife. I haven't tried any of our BRT lines yet so I might ...

Re: 1724-1728 Nicollet

This is an outside-of-the-box idea, but, instead of a street curb cut, would it be possible to put the garage entrance directly from I-94? It sounds bonkers, but it could be an interesting amenity that would free up street front space and provide a unique amenity to those in the building. I doubt t...

Re: Bike Shopping

I don't use studded tires, I have some 3 season Schwable tires and have used Continental Winter tires before. What he needs depends on how much biking he's going to do and how bad of weather he's willing to bike in. You might be able to just let some air out of mountain bike tires if he's not riding...

Re: 1724-1728 Nicollet

I live in this area. This is exciting given that Nicollet will be lined with this building and the sibling across the street. With these empty spaces taken I'm hoping someday buildings could be put on top of 94 on either side of Nicollet to create a seamless streetscape.

Anyone else lamenting that the Ichiban site is still vacant? It kinds kills the activity on that end of the mall. Even if the building is torn down it'll be great to have this corner activated!

Re: Former West Publishing / County Jail development site

I think it's smart how Aecom is expanding the footprint across Shepard Road to create more potential for the site. I also personally dislike Shepard Road deeply and love the idea of covering it. The buildings should perhaps connect more with the rest of Downtown St. Paul more however? I'm also skept...

Seems like office consolidation would lead to a greater density of workers on the positive side. However, you need the tenants to start with.

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Office Market

I read the below in an StarTribune article about the Ryan parking ramp tower becoming residential. My question for the forum is how does Minneapolis attract more office tenants? Personally, I feel like the city could be more aggressive in networking and selling our Downtown to pull tenants from the ...

Re: Bicycle Infrastructure

The Third Avenue planters are destroyed next to Convention Center. By that I mean a few of them are shattered. I've noticed them knocked over often, but not destroyed. I'm glad they're there. I mean if the cars are hitting the planters would they hit me if they weren't there? Overall, I don't know h...

Re: Stadium Parking Ramp Development Site

It would be nice if they at least covered the ramp with something. I think it'll be great to have an semi-open air food hall or park or etc on the top.

Re: Gateway Tower (RBC/Four Seasons) - 37 stories - 503'

I'm trying to figure out what the economic incentive is for it? This won't be cheap, what do they thing they'll get from it? The old Fed building is on the edge of that part of the skyway. My only thought is that their hoping to make their building some sort of hub for that corner of downtown.

I read the article and all it appear to say is that the hotel was back on and another proposal will be submitted? Does this change the building at all besides replacing the residential with hotel?

It's just me, but I think this is more handsome than the Gateway building across the street. I'm also wondering if it will be the tallest building between Hennepin and 1st Aves Downtown?

Does anyone remember when this was to break ground? I went through the posts and wasn't able to find my needle in a haystack. I recall reading that it was this time of the year. I live nearby and have been waiting to see barriers go up.

Re: Eleven (Ryan Condo Tower) - 1111 West River Parkway - 43 stories / 526'

I used to have a relative work where the Legacy is being constructed. We always took WRP from Plymouth to pick them up from work. People use it instead of Washington to get to NE or N and 94. Also a lot of people go south beyond 35. If you go to the stop sign at the Greenway during rush hour you'll ...

I found it interesting that they're targeting empty nesters and seniors. Why not target a younger crowd given the location? It also seems like there is an opportunity maybe some minor office space with retail and etc? I'm not sure if that would get approved, but I could see a small business enjoying...

Will this be about the same height as the Wells Fargo towers given that it's residential? Regardless it would be a skyline changer if built. It seems like the last vacant lots are being quickly snatched, however I'm wondering what all will get built before we go bust?

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Office Market

It seems to me that as the Twin Cities expands outward Downtown is logistically a good place to be located given that employees can commute from across the Twin Cities. ie. it's easier to go from N. Metro to Downtown then from N. Metro to S. Metro or far E. or W. Metro. When I worked at Land O' Lake...
