Re: Thor Construction HQ - Penn and Plymouth

The Northpoint building was torn down last week and the old Estes Funeral home short before that. Besides some surveyors I haven't seen any other activity for the new Northpoint building. Northpoint also seems to have seamlessly moved displaced units into the Thor-less building. Anyone know how much...

Re: Bottineau LRT (Blue Line Extension)

Would be nice to use the West Broadway streetcar alignment between Robbinsdale and downtown (then going out to Brooklyn Park). It skips the Railroad bs and provides good crosstown & radial transit service instead. Just gotta get from the original blue line to Washington ave somehow to serve the nor...

Re: Bottineau LRT (Blue Line Extension)

I agree move it to BRT. What were the other alignments? Could it follow the viaduct up to W. Broadway? I have no idea how it would fit on that road, however most of the traffic there doesn't consist of Mpls residents and includes many who would probably use the LRT.

Re: Downtown Minneapolis General Topics & Development Map

I would love to see a Cost-Benefit on removing the viaduct. Some people would be upset, they love to charge onto there whipping through the intersection. I take the bike path adjacent at times and there is plenty of engine revving.

I picture them building something comparable to the surrounding structures. Would this be accessed in a similar fashion as T3?

It might looks great...sounds like it is also combustible. The fire was between two floors which makes me wonder is some equipment was installed incorrectly? http://www.startribune.com/small-fire-burns-inside-downtown-hotel/511238882/ "Fire crews located smoke and flames in a space between the first...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis General Topics & Development Map

I would love to see that viaduct go. It wastes a huge chunk of land between 10th and Plymouth for the ramps.

I'm glad to see the lot gone. Whenever the next boom goes there shouldn't be hardly any lots left, creating a new chapter in what gets built in Mpls.

At $10 million is a bargain given how much was paid for bridges over freeways and for the MN Vikings. I hope St Paul would hold up their end of the bargain and give us somewhere to bike to!

70% sold is a nice precedent. Now only if we could combining a tower like Eleven with hotel or office is our best bet at getting the type of tower many have hoped for. We have one item of demand..the others? We'll see.

Re: Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board

Surely, the Park Board could spend the million dollars for this one something more productive for the parks? This seems like a lot of money for something that is going to build resentment against Complete Streets initiatives. I don't go down here during rush hour, but I see how the river parkway is ...

Re: Electric Scooters

I like that the scooters often use the bike lane, more people in the bike lanes whether biking or scooting helps legitimize them and gets buy-in. Too many of our bike lanes are not often used.

I biked past here within the last week. Nothing has happened except to put up the fence and apparently the current building on the corner is getting a new parking lot. Behind the fence the cars are still using the lost where the tower will go. The Gateway Tower is farther.

Re: Satori Minneapolis (Broadway from Aldrich-Emerson)

I have mixed feelings about this one. I think it'll be good for W. Broadway, but it doesn't fit into the neighborhood. Secondly, I wonder how successful it would be given that the area north of here between W. Broadway and Lowry is the most dangerous within the city given the crime maps. This would ...

The trail connection between the Cedar Lake Trail and the Sculpture Garden is a pretty good kept secret. It'll be nice if they fixed it up a bit and maybe made bike improvements between Loring Park and Downtown.

It'll be neat if they could have utilized the historic depot near Penn Ave. Integrate it into a station
