Re: Federal Reserve Riverfront Parking Ramp

Honestly, you could give employees Go-to-Card like passes and hook them up to the electric scooters. But then...it does snow in MN doesn't it? Maybe the Fed can work with a developer and build something like Thrivent did for their ramp.

Re: Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board

I found this article about a landbridge for cougars to get over a freeway in LA interesting. Within Minneapolis we already have incidental ecological corridors and could plan some more. Especially along our bikeways and parkways like the Midtown Greenway, Victory Memorial drive and etc. If these are...

I could see developers maybe being really interested in this property, there are only so many lots along major roads and the river. The area to the west is pretty rough still though however.

There needs to be some sort of long-ranged plan to adapt the infatructure to climate change. In some instances, it might best for us to retreat a bit.

Re: Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board

I was jogging up Theo Wirth on Sunday. As I went north past Bassett Creek the path and Theo Wirth PArkway were clear on my way back there was water on both...bit later in the day the parkway was completely flooded. The walkway between Calhoun and Isles has been flooded for awhile and one of the path...

It might be here: https://gisdata.mn.gov/dataset/us-mn-st ... -google-fd

I've looked at it before. I think you can get at it throught MetroGIS. It's somewhere on the Met Council's site. I've been able to view the ridership by stop at one point. It was really cool.

In North News, the owners was talking about affordable housing and leaving a legacy. They also said that the building was old and somewhat of a burden.

Dunn Brothers at the library is closed...it's odd though that they crossed out the word "permanently". So I'm not sure if it's for a limited basis or etc. There are still also barriers around Nimbus.

1) It's sad that Varsity is leaving, bought my first nice bike there. It seems like with this shop leaving and One on One moving we're losing bicycle shops near places with density.

2) That food court ironically reminds me of the Coffman cafeteria.

I'm hoping the SWLRT helps bring more jobs Downtown by connecting the SW metro corporate campuses to Downtown. Especially UnitedHealth Group.

A cyclist taking the detour for the Cedar Lake to the path past the Sculpture Garden was hit by a car yesterday minorly. He seemed okay, but shaken. I think the car was going through the light or doing a right turn onto Lyndale. The intersection was Oak Grove St and Lyndale/Hennepin.

I biked through the lot and they marked the corners of the building with spray paint...that and maybe some utility work is all I saw. (I biked from the tunnel over to 11th Ave jumping the curb separating the two lots.

If they spruced up all the entrances that might work. It would be nice if the midblock Nicollet one didn't look like you were entering a cave.

It just occurred to me that simply offering programming in this space might be enough to clear it at least once in awhile. Magicians, musicians whatever works.

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Retail News

It's safe to say it creates an uncomfortable feeling around the area, no matter if the people there are nice or not. I go by there all the time, usually no problems but have had some of them be confrontational towards me. But, the average person (take my parents for example) now avoid this area bec...
