Re: Southwest LRT (Green Line Extension)

The trail connection between the Cedar Lake Trail and the Sculpture Garden is a pretty good kept secret. It'll be nice if they fixed it up a bit and maybe made bike improvements between Loring Park and Downtown.

Re: Southwest LRT (Green Line Extension)

Yeah, we talked about this last week. The bike detour isn't terrible and it is the edge of Downtown

They also seemed to have moved Target Field and replaced part of Downtown with a nice forested neighborhood?

Re: Southwest LRT (Green Line Extension)

It'll be neat if they could have utilized the historic depot near Penn Ave. Integrate it into a station

Re: Southwest LRT (Green Line Extension)

Does anyone know when they will start building the tracks across 7th st next to the Highway 55 intersection and Target Field? It seems like this will snarl traffic pretty bad.

Re: Southwest LRT (Green Line Extension)

Glenwood to the Farmers Market to Royalston over the tracks if that isn't closed as well. Otherwise just take the detour and grab LaSalle or Nicollet or etc.

Re: Thrivent Headquarters Block - 6th St and Portland Ave

Funny story I was walking Downtown with a coworker and he looked at this building and noticing they topped it out and logically said, "I thought they were going to make that taller?"

Re: Southwest LRT (Green Line Extension)

It might be easier for some to just take the bike lanes on Glenwood for a good chunk of this given that it's direct. I run from Downtown to my home at Theo Wirth often so I'm bummed by some of these closures. Vineland/Sculpture Garden works I trained for a Marathon through there last year, and it's ...

It was nice to see some kids flying kites here this weekend. Hopefully something else starts going up into the air soon as well!

A number of North Loop streets, including Third, the one in the photo, are being reconstructed this year. I don't know if this will involve burying the power lines.
I was driving through here today and thought to myself, "Thank goodness their reconstructing these soon."

Huh? "The St. Anthony neighborhood of Minneapolis offers excellent schools and a peaceful location to raise a family or meet new friends." -From their site. If I'm not mistaken such a neighborhood doesn't even exist within Minneapolis. (There is a St Anthony East and West near the Mississippi

I thought it was interesting that they put up new signs with parking information. When this and Eleven are being constructed it'll be great is someone could get a photo from across the river or somewhere of both building going up.

Re: Minneapolis Parking Meters

Many of the parishioners at my place of worship come from the suburbs so transit does very little for them. Be a lot of work for a family to get from Roseville to Downtown Minneapolis on a Sunday morning.

Re: Minneapolis Parking Meters

It'll be great if they could eliminate or lower the fees during non-event Sundays. Transit is quite sketchy on Sundays I've tried it. I attend a Downtown church and in the middle of winter the car is the best way to get there. Let's face it biking doesn't work for 97% of people during the winter. (L...

Re: Bike Share

MPR has a story on it, which doesn't seem to answer all the questions. So did St Paul choose Lime as their preferred, and then they backed out of the bikes leaving St Paul with nothing? The article seems to also imply somehow that this is related to Lyft buying Motivate. This seems to be a blow to t...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Office Market

Personally, part of me would rather these stay empty until the next boom and we get something more significant built. Too many yawn buildings recently. Have DID put a temporary park or etc here.
