Re: Eleven (Ryan Condo Tower) - 1111 West River Parkway - 43 stories / 526'

I used to have a relative work where the Legacy is being constructed. We always took WRP from Plymouth to pick them up from work. People use it instead of Washington to get to NE or N and 94. Also a lot of people go south beyond 35. If you go to the stop sign at the Greenway during rush hour you'll ...

Re: Hiawatha-Minnehaha Ave Development & RR Corridor/Grain Elevators

I found it interesting that they're targeting empty nesters and seniors. Why not target a younger crowd given the location? It also seems like there is an opportunity maybe some minor office space with retail and etc? I'm not sure if that would get approved, but I could see a small business enjoying...

Will this be about the same height as the Wells Fargo towers given that it's residential? Regardless it would be a skyline changer if built. It seems like the last vacant lots are being quickly snatched, however I'm wondering what all will get built before we go bust?

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Office Market

It seems to me that as the Twin Cities expands outward Downtown is logistically a good place to be located given that employees can commute from across the Twin Cities. ie. it's easier to go from N. Metro to Downtown then from N. Metro to S. Metro or far E. or W. Metro. When I worked at Land O' Lake...

Re: Stadium Village

It's interesting how Downtown Minneapolis is strongly linked to many of these though either geography (NE) LRT (Midway and Stadium Village and South Loop) or interstate with 394 (West End). Is Pentagon park going to be part of SWLRT? Personally, I like Downtown St Paul to get some of this constructi...

The rowers can go above the Falls and maybe locate facilities in the redo along 2nd in N or the Scherer site. Their current facilities could be adapted for new recreational activities?

Re: Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board

I wonder how much greater the economic impact will be for Mpls and St Paul if the dams were removed and the river was opened up for greater recreation? I feel like it could be a good economic impact study for the U of M.

This is a little bit of a gateway space to Minneapolis for a lot of people. For this and Legacy to be the first things they see is dismaying.

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Office Market

This is disappointing given that United Healthcare/Optum is probably the business here that can best afford the kind of tower we dream of seeing Downtown. The mayor or other business leaders need to work to get them Downtown.

I think they're prepping and removing some items that may be valuable. They were on the roof at the little building working a bit ago. There were cars parking there last week.

Re: Bicycle Infrastructure

If an electric motor counts as a motor they would be? But, I think I've read they're allowed if they have a top speed of 15mph or etc. Basically, if they behave like a bicycle they are allowed on the bicycle infrastructure I think is the legal logic. I know not all the electric bikes out there adher...

Re: Bicycle Infrastructure

I've noticed a lot of scooters/mopeds/whatever on the 3rd Ave Bike Lanes. One rider today insisted she was allowed to ride in the bike lanes. I tried looking this up on the city's website and etc. and couldn't find anything. The city linked to a state law that said no motor vehicles in the bike lane...

Portland Towers isn't very attractive either. Maybe this was just Stanton's taste in design?

On Saturday I returned to Minneapolis from Rochester via 52/55 and when I got to Lake it was great to see all the density that has been built up. I felt like my first urban welcome as I entered the city.

I wonder if this could be reviving a Century Plaza / convention center development. Please, please, please let this be the case, it makes almost too much sense. Hollow it out by taking out the parking ramp in the center and build a nice glassy tower growing out of that. Use the current building as ...

Re: Downtown Hotel News

The "empty" block across from the Campbell Mithun building would be a good location for this. Close to the Convention Center, connected to the skyway easily and not far from Dowtown East (the new Finnegans is closeby) or the core.

They seem driven by spreadsheets and their numbers. At least from the exterior the building doesn't even appear to be luxury level quality.
